Christmas Message from the Prophet Matthew Gill

Today, people around the world are preparing for Christmas. Hopefully, all are preparing to celebrate on that special day the birth in a Bethlehem manger of the Prince of Peace the Redeemer of the world - Jesus the Christ. Let us remember that this season is full of promise and hope because of Jesus Christ. It is he whom we celebrate and it is he whom we love and serve as his disciples. We hope to bring all to the knowledge of his birth, earthly mission and message of eternal salvation during this time of beauty and promise.

Centuries before the birth of the Christ child, prophets proclaimed that Jesus would be born of a virgin.

The prophet Isaiah foretold and testified of the Savior’s divine mission and birth, saying, “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”

The Prophet Nephi saw a vision of the Savior’s birth and ministry before and after the Lord’s Crucifixion:

“And I beheld the city of Nazareth; and in the city of Nazareth I beheld a virgin, and she was exceeding fair and white.”

And in the Book of Mosiah, King Benjamin testified of the coming of the Savior, saying:

“For behold, the time cometh, and is not far distant, that with power, the Lord omnipotent who reigneth, which was, and is from all eternity to all eternity, shall come down from Heaven, among the children of men… And he shall be called Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Father of Heaven and Earth, the creator of all things, from the beginning; and his mother shall be called Mary.”

Other prophets such as Daniel and Samuel the Lamanite described further details of His earthly ministry. Hosea foretold His sojourn into Egypt. The Lord sent John the Baptist, one of the noblest of prophets, to “prepare the way” for the earthly ministry of the Christ.

We learn in the Book of Jeraneck that Christ made himself known to Ancient Britons. The Prophet Sharaneck was told by Christ, “I am he who will be born to a virgin pure and clean.” (Jaraneck 5:17.)

And again, the Prophet Jeraneck reveals that he was shown a vision of the birth of the Saviour, “I saw a Virgin and she was pure and unspotted and she was moved upon by the Holy Spirit and she gave birth to a baby boy and this baby was the Lord of Heaven and she gave birth to him in a stable built in to the rocks and she named him Jesus.” (16:41)

The ancient prophets, before the birth of Jesus, told of the glories of His atonement, the miracle of His resurrection. They foretold His coming to open the way for a literal resurrection for all humankind and for eternal life for those who merit that “greatest of all gifts.”

Yes, there were centuries of preparation for the coming of the Lord. We should, in turn, live in gratitude for these glorious revelation and live lives worthy of that inheritance.

Brothers and sisters, in the spirit of those ancient prophets, may we prepare for this year’s observance of His birth by saying,

“Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the City of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.”

As we pause on this dark day of remembrance of the 11 September attacks in the United States, the Latter Day Church of Jesus Christ recognizes the courage and resilience of the families of the victims of those attacks. Among the more than 2800 victims were 67 Britons and people from dozens of other nations, making these evil acts truly an attack on decent and innocent men and women all across the globe.

May Almighty God continue to comfort and give solace and strength to the families of the victims and to all mankind as we prayerfully remember with sorrow this day.

A Call to Harvest for the Lord

A Message of Prophet Matthew Gill to The Latter Day Church of Jesus Christ; 4 Sept. 2011:

Each of us has a solemn obligation to, first, understand by the Spirit what has said about the mission of the Church; second, to catch the prophetic vision of missionary work and third, to implement completely in our own lives the words of the Lord and of His living Prophet pertaining to missionary work.

The most important counsel and direction on missionary work comes to us through the Lord to his Prophets, for the Prophet is literally the mouthpiece of the Lord. So stated the Lord: “For his word ye shall receive, as if from mine own mouth. In all patience and faith” (D&C 46:2/1835; D&C 21:5.)

I testify to you by the Spirit that we should stand as living testimonies of what the Lord would have us do today. I fear that unless we fully understand the words of Prophets past and Prophets present and catch the vision of missionary work, and implement the words of the Lord, we will be held accountable before God. I also fear that we have not yet done what the Lord would have us do as directed to us in his revelations concerning missionary work.

The Lord has asked that we place great emphasis on the sacredness of bringing souls unto our Father in Heaven and the importance of greatly increasing convert baptisms. The Lord has given us much direction on this matter in fact he spoke to o John and Peter Whitmer on this very issue he said, “And now, behold, I say unto you, that the thing which will be of the most worth unto you will be to declare repentance unto this people, that you may bring souls unto me, that you may rest with them in the kingdom of my Father.’” (D&C 40:3/1835)

As a Church, we have not yet caught that vision. Members are not bringing people and ultimately members into the Church year on year. We have not yet met the challenge and charge laid out by the Lord. As far as convert baptisms are concerned, we have only been converting a few people a year for the last six years. I say to you and to all our members wherever they may be, that we must have more converts. They must be well converted. No gimmicks to get baptisms. They must be real converts, but we do want more converts. It is imperative that we do as the Lord commands and bring souls unto Christ and bring them unto his church.

I want the members of this church to actively go out … not merely to make friends for the Church, though that is important, but to properly convert and baptize. … “He that believeth and is baptized must be saved.” (Mark 16:16.) Note that the scripture says not he that heareth, but he that believeth and is baptized and that is the important part, but if we sit back and do nothing then the church will not grow tithing will remain stagnant and so the church will remain stagnant as well and what will say before the Lord when he calls us forward at judgment? Shall we stand and say, ‘Lord I tried but it was too hard, I had other priorities,’ or shall we stand and say, ‘I did as you commanded. I ploughed the field that was white and ready for the harvest; I spoke and I went out; I laboured hard in your name.’

Let my try and put it this way, and please take the time to think about this before answering to yourself: Do we really believe in revelation? If so, then why can we not accept the revealed word of God? He has revealed to us to look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest (John 4:35) It has be ready since the inception of the Church under our dear Prophet, Brother Joseph, was commanded to restore Christ’s Church. He has asked us again in our modern day scripture to go out and harvest the field. (D&C 39:2/1835)

We have been given revelation in the form of great new scripture. Who are we to withhold that blessing from people? Who are we to deny them a chance at salvation through the Lord and his church?

I ask each and every one of you, myself included, to set for our church a goal that we shall get up and go out in to the world to the marketplaces and to the streets to endeavour to bring souls unto the Lord and to impart what has been given us as a gift by the Lord God.

Let us act in obedience so faithfully, that the Lord, in the final day, shall say to each one of us, “Well done, good and faithful servant… you have served me well.” (Matt. 25:21; Jeraneck 9:12)

Head of Latter Day Church of Jesus Christ Calls for End of Rioting, Prayer for Victims

Prophet, Seer and Revelator of the Latter Day Church of Jesus Christ, Matthew Gill, has appealed for calm in London and other cities affected by the rioting and violence of recent days.

His message follows:

"Pillaging and violence are before us, and strife and contention arise.

The violence, destruction of property and disregard for civil society we have witnessed in recent days is truly shocking to all men and women of conscience throughout the land.

I call on all who cherish and labour for peace should pray for those effected by this outburst of violence, including those who have lost their livelihoods, their businesses and their homes.

I share the vision of the Prophet Isaiah, who prayed that, "violence shall no more be heard in the land, wasting nor destruction within thy borders." (Is. 60:18)

Those who riot should turn towards God with peace, humility and repentance, for “from violence he redeems their life.” (Ps. 72:14)

But also, those who commit violence against others should know that the Lord shall repay them “according to the works of their own hands.” (Jer. 25:14) and shall "punish the wicked for their iniquity" and "cause the arrogance of the proud to cease." (Is. 13:11.)

"We believe that all men are bound to sustain and uphold the respective governments in which they reside while protected in their inherent and inalienable rights by the laws of such governments," wrote the Prophet Joseph Smith, "and that sedition and rebellion are unbecoming every citizen thus protected, and should be punished accordingly." (Doctrine & Covenants, section 102, 1835 edition.)

It is the hope and prayer of myself and of the members of the Latter Day Church of Jesus Christ that peace shall reign in the land, and that all will love one another, as the Lord loves us. And that all peoples shall, in the words of the Apostle Paul, "be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you."

Prophet Sends Condolences to Norway

The Prophet Matthew Gill has released the following statement on the tragedy in Norway:

"We were saddened to hear the news of the mass shooting and bomb explosion in Norway, it is unthinkable to have to deal with events such as these. The church would like to send its condolences to all those people that have lost loved ones in the tragic events that have transpired in Norway over the last few days.

The church has friends in Norway and we hope that we are able to offer any assistance that we can to you at this time.

As the Prophet of the church, I pray that those have experienced loss at this time may find comfort on the arms of the saviour that they might be able to feel of his spirit at this time although difficult it may seem I want you all to know that the Lord is with you in this our of need and that he will send the Holy Ghost to comfort those that stand in need of comfort.

Once again our thoughts are with all the people of Norway at this time. Peace be with you."

Latter Day Charity Relief Update

The Latter Day Church of Jesus Christ would like to take this opportunity to publicly express its thanks to all those individuals and business involved in helping the charitable arm of the church The Latter Day Charity Relief it is thanks to you and your willingness to help that our charity relief efforts have been such a great success. It has been a long road getting this far and reaching out to all the people that we have done, however with your help it has been worth it. The church has been able to offer help to families and individuals all over the world especially those in need on the African continent. You will all be aware of the most recent news coming out of Africa, and it is with your help that we have been able to offer both monetary and clothing relief to the people who now find themselves in much need of both.

Over the last five months we have expanded the scope and reach of Latter Day Charity Relief, we have been able to expand the amount of people working with us and we have now been able to expand our business links and charitable work providing clothing and monetary aid to many people who have had a real need of it. We have been able to allow a small amount of light in to peoples lives were there has only been darkness.

We hope with your continued help to be able to continue our efforts and with the expansion of our charitable outreach we hope to be able to effect great change in many more people lives.

The Church and Passover Celebration

In these last days the Lord has seen fit to call a people forth to set right what has for so long been in error. He has seen fit to enlighten humanity with more revealed scripture and has enabled us to read the words of others who also worshipped at the feet of Christ. As so today h e has chosen to do away with the errors of the Easter season.

In these last days the church of God has been commanded to set aside all the unrighteousness of Easter and has been commanded to remember the Passover of Christ from mortality to immortally from corruptible to incorruptible. The feast of the new Passover is a true celebration of the true meaning of the celebration of a wonderful time of year named by the world as Easter.

To all our members world wide we ask that you to remember the words spoken in the Book of prophecies and Revelations when the Lord said:
‘Hearken, O my servant, my Prophet, for verily I say unto you that I the Lord am most displeased with the world for they have taken my sacrifice and they have desecrated it and they have set it at naught. Behold I say unto you that it is not pleasing unto me that Easter be celebrated amongst my church in the manner in which it is being done. For it is a celebration that mocks me and it is done in memory of a pagan God. Now I say unto you that it is expedient unto me that these things are done away with and that they not be done in my name for my name is sacred and shall not be cast down amongst the swine for them to feast upon’
So let us brace ourselves to our duty to do as the Lord commands and leave behind all the trappings of Easter eggs and bunny rabbits and let us instead look to Christ for he is our Lord and it is to him that our minds must be turned this time of year. God bless you my brothers and sisters and may you all have a wonderful and happy and Christ centered Passover weekend.

A message from the Prophet Matthew Gill on the disaster in Japan:

"This week we been witnesses to the awesome destructive power of the forces of the nature of the world, we have seen the light of life for many extinguished in the face of that awesome force. The people of Japan have borne the brunt of this destruction to such an extent that it boggles the mind to think of this force and the life it has taken.

As God's representative upon the earth and as the leader of The Latter Day Church of Jesus Christ, I send out the heartfelt condolences and prayers of all the members of the church to all the people in Japan at this time and to our few but obedient followers in Japan. We are with you in thought and in prayer, peace be upon you, our thoughts are with you and we will do all we can to help and assist in this time of great sorrow. May the peace of the Lord be with you may it rest upon you and give you a sign of rest and comfort in these hard and troubled times.

I know it may seem that the Lord has abandoned you, that he has left you alone, but I bear testimony that he is with you now more than ever. The Latter Day Church of Jesus Christ is committed to using the little resource that we have including our charity to send aid and help to those who may stand in need of it at this great of sorrow.

Charity Never Faileth

The Latter Day Church of Jesus Christ would like to announce that from today we are starting a charity drive with immediate effect. The church will operate this charity drive via our Charity partner Latter Day Charity Relief. Many of our new members who have joined the church had raised the issue of raising money for those members in far of countries and in our own who are in need. In a meeting held two nights ago it was decided that a church that runs under a mandate from God can ill afford to ignore the needs of our fellow brothers and sisters no matter where they are in the world.

After speaking to the Charities Commission here in the United Kingdom sometime ago and after taking their advice we decided to enact the churches charitable status and have decided to place on our church blog site our Small Charity Constitution for all to see and also a copy of the Charities Commission guideline on small charities who earn less than £5000 a year.

It is our aim from today to ask and to solicit from people items of used clothing, shoes, and bags so that we may be able to supply to the needy the items that they do not have or are in need of. We will also try to exchange some items of clothing for money and set this aside for the charity so that we may be able to use a portion of this money to help enrich the lives of those less fortunate than we and to ease their Burden.

As Mormons and as Christians we believe that charity is the pure love of Christ. We teach that when we serve others, we are also serving God, and we turn to the example of the Savior in deciding how to serve others. The Lord said “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.” In the eyes of our Savior, love and charity were identical. All of His acts of charity were done not from a sense of duty, but from a deep feeling of love for everyone that He encountered. He didn’t limit His service to His friends, He didn’t limit it to those who were wealthy or middle class. He didn’t even limit it to those who were worthy, in the world’s eyes, of charity. Jesus Christ demonstrated charity constantly and encouraged His followers to do the same.

Christ’s life is the ultimate example of charity. Through His example, we can find happiness and enrich the lives of others. Christ shows us that if we put others first, we can find true joy. The definition of charity is the pure love of Christ. Charity is one of the many gifts from Christ. It should be sought with prayer and diligence:
'Wherefore, my beloved brethren, if ye have not charity, ye are nothing, for charity never faileth. Wherefore, cleave unto charity, which is the greatest of all, for all things must fail—'

We are asking for you to show charity to those less fortunate. It is or aim to collect as much as we can and give it as a charitable donation to those who stand in need of it.

Types of charity that do not have to register

You might think that every charity or voluntary organisation has to register with us. But not all voluntary organisations are charities, and some charities don’t have to register. There are hundreds of thousands of voluntary organizations in the UK, but fewer than 180,000 of them are charities registered with us. This is because:
• an organisation can only be a charity if it has aims which are for the public benefit
• registration doesn't make an organisation into a charity - it must already be one
• some organisations that are charities don't have to, or are not allowed to, register

Applying to register a charity can involve a lot of work. We don't want to waste your time if your charity doesn't have to register, or cannot register. Click on the links if any of these statements apply to your charity.
• My charity's annual income is less than £5,000
• My charity's head office isn't in England or Wales
• My charity is part of a larger organisation
• My charity might be 'exempt' or 'excepted' from registration
My charity's annual income is less than £5,000

We don't register charities whose income is less than £5,000. This helps to avoid unnecessary administrative costs and effort for smaller charities and for us. Small charities don't need to register to prove that they are charities or benefit from charitable status.

SMALL CHARITY CONSTITUTION

Suitable for small charities with an annual income under £5,000 that don’t own a building or employ people and do not intend to register with the Charity Commission.

1 NAME
The Latter Day Church of Jesus Christ

2 THE PURPOSES OF THE CHARITY ARE:-
To promote Christian Values around the world and Promote Christian Literature and Try and relieve poverty and suffering were we see it around the world, giving to those who stand in need here in the United Kingdom, Haiti and Africa. This endeavour will be carried out via our Charity partner Latter Day Charity Relief.

3 TRUSTEES
Prophet Matthew Gill, Elder Philip Gill

4 CARRYING OUT THE PURPOSES
In order to carry out the charitable purposes, the trustees have the power to:
(1) raise funds, receive grants and donations
(2) apply funds to carry out the work of the charity
(3) co-operate with and support other charities with similar purposes
(4) do anything which is lawful and necessary to achieve the purposes

5 MEMBERSHIP
The charity shall have a membership. People who support the work of the charity and are aged 18 or over, can apply to the trustees to become a member. Once accepted by the trustees, membership lasts for 3 years and may be renewed. The trustees will keep an up-to-date membership list.

The trustees may remove a person’s membership if they believe it is in the best interests of the charity. The member has the right to be heard by the trustees before the decision is made and can be accompanied by a friend.

6 ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING - AGM
(1) The AGM must be held every year, with 14 days notice given to all members telling
them what is on the agenda. Minutes must be kept of the AGM.
(2) There must be at least 3 minimum members present at the AGM.
(3) Every member has one vote.
(4) The trustees shall present the annual report and accounts.
(5) Any member may stand for election as a trustee.
(6) Members shall elect between 3 and 10 trustees to serve for the next year. They will retire at the next AGM but may stand for re-election.

7 TRUSTEE MEETINGS
(1) Trustees must hold at least 3 meetings each year. At their first meeting after the AGM they will elect a chair, treasurer and secretary. Trustees may act by majority decision.
(2) At least 3 trustees must be present at the meeting to be able to take decisions. Minutes shall be kept for every meeting.
(3) If trustees have a conflict of interest they must declare it and leave the meeting while this matter is being discussed or decided.
(4) During the year, the trustees may appoint up to 2 additional trustees. They will stand down at the next AGM.
(5) The trustees may make reasonable additional rules to help run the charity. These rules must not conflict with this constitution or the law.

8 MONEY AND PROPERTY
(1) Money and property must only be used for the charity’s purposes.
(2) Trustees must keep accounts. The most recent annual accounts can be seen by anybody on request.
(3) Trustees cannot receive any money or property from the charity, except to refund reasonable out of pocket expenses.
(4) Money must be held in the charity’s bank account. All cheques must be signed by 2 trustees.

9 GENERAL MEETINGS
If the Trustees consider it is necessary to change the constitution, or wind up the charity, they must call a General Meeting so that the membership can make the decision. Trustees must also call a General Meeting if they receive a written request from the majority of members. All members must be given 14 days notice and told the reason for the meeting. All decisions require a two thirds majority. Minutes must be kept.
(1) Winding up - any money or property remaining after payment of debts must be given to a charity with similar purposes to this one.
(2) Changes to the Constitution - can be made at AGMs or General Meetings. No change can be made that would make the organisation no longer a charity.
(3) General Meeting - called on written request from a majority of members.
(4) Trustees may also call a General Meeting to consult the membership

10 SETTING UP THE CHARITY
This constitution was adopted on the 10th August 2009 by the people whose names appear below. They are the first members of the charity and will be the trustees until the AGM, which must be held within one year of this date.

Statement by Prophet Matthew P. Gill on the shooting in Arizona, USA:

"I was shocked to hear of the wanton destruction of life and the mindless menace of violence which took place in the United States of America in Tucson, Arizona on the 8th of January 2011. As the Prophet of the church I wish to pass on my condolences on behalf of the church here in the United Kingdom, and as the Prophet of the whole Church worldwide.

One day we shall have peace on this earth one day we shall have the peace and calm that we crave and desire, but it will only come through Jesus the anointed one the Messiah the Son of God. Until that day we may walk through darkness but we carry before us the Light of Christ and we carry that to the whole world. It is up to all right thinking Christan men and women, even children to stand out against acts if violence and oppression.

The Latter Day Church of Jesus Christ extends its condolences to all who have lost during this tragic time, we pray that you may find some peace and feel of the Lords comfort in your time of sorrow. Peace be with you."

The Prophet & His Wife Welcome New Baby

The Prophet and his family welcomed the arrival of new son Leonardo Philip Gill in to the fold on Friday the 13th of August 2010. Leonardo is the Prophets second son arriving some six and a half years after the birth of his first son Levi Matthew Gill. We wish the Prophet and his wife all the best and hope that they have many wonderful and exciting years ahead with both Leonardo and Levi. Monument found near Stonehenge site

Dear Brothers and Sisters it has been reported today through the Internet news channels that Archaeologists studying the land surrounding Stonehenge have discovered the remains of another ceremonial monument a few hundred yards away. It is wonderful news for the church as we believe that this once again stands as material evidence of the validity of the Book of Jeraneck. Archaeologists studying the land surrounding Stonehenge have discovered the remains of another ceremonial monument a few hundred yards away.
The second henge - a circular ditch thought to have held a free-standing wooden structure - was uncovered just two weeks into a three-year project to map the area around the World Heritage Site.
Leaders of the international project, involving experts from British universities and teams from Austria, Germany, Norway and Sweden, hailed the discovery of Stonehenge's lost "twin" as incredible.
Professor Vince Gaffney, from the University of Birmingham, said: "It will completely change the way we think about the landscape around Stonehenge.
"People have tended to think that as Stonehenge reached its peak, it was the paramount monument, existing in splendid isolation.
"This discovery is completely new and extremely important in how we understand Stonehenge and its landscape."
The new "henge-like" late Neolithic structure would have stood within sight of Stonehenge and appears to have been built on the same orientation as the world-renowned monument.
It comprises a segmented ditch with entrances to the north east and south west, which are associated with internal pits up to three feet in diameter.
The international study forms part of the Stonehenge Hidden Landscapes Project and was led by the University of Birmingham and the Austria-based Ludwig Boltzmann Institute.
The project aims to map 5.5 square miles of the terrain around Stonehenge, in Wiltshire, using the latest geophysical imaging techniques.

This Sunday will see the first of the two annual General Assemblies of The Latter Day Church of Jesus Christ. The 2010 Spring General Assembly will be held on Sunday the 16th of May at five pm English time.

OUT OF THE MOUTHS OF BABES

Out of the mouths of babes, that is the headline today, why? Well yesterday while reading the newspaper I came across this wonderful article about a young boy of three from Germany who has said that he saw heaven and his dead Grandmother. After reading the article and the views of the doctors in the article I said to my self that the lord was right, we need to be listening to our children to suffer them to come unto us, their insight and wisdom could serve us all well.

I’m sure there will be those reading this blog who will think that they can explain away this boys experience, but I think that instead of trying to explain away what to me seems like very real proof of heaven may be we should just except it and move on, maybe if we embraced God in our lives and a belief in heaven we would all be a lot better placed to come through the crisis on our lives. Well I’ll let you read it for yourselves and let you ask the Lord for a witness, may be you need one? Maybe you don’t whatever your thoughts and beliefs this is a great article.

Boy, 3, tells how he 'saw grandmother in Heaven' before being brought back from the dead after falling into pond

A boy of three claims he saw his great grandmother in heaven while he was clinically dead after falling into a pond.
Paul Eicke came back to life more than three hours after his heart stopped beating.
It is believed he was in the pond at his grandparents' house for several minutes before his grandfather saw him and pulled him out.
His father gave him heart massage and mouth-to-mouth during the ten minutes it took a helicopter to arrive.
Paramedics then took over and Paul was taken the ten-minute journey to hospital. Doctors tried to resuscitate him for hours. They had just given up when,
three hours and 18 minutes after he was brought in, Paul's heart started beating independently.
Professor Lothar Schweigerer, director of the Helios Clinic where Paul was taken, said: 'I have never experienced anything like it.
'When children have been underwater for a few minutes they mostly don't make it. This is a most extraordinary case.'
The boy said that while unconscious he saw his great grandmother Emmi, who had turned him back from a gate and urged him to go back to his parents.
Paul said: 'There was a lot of light and I was floating. I came to a gate and I saw Grandma Emmi on the other side.

'She said to me, "What are you doing here Paul? You must go back to mummy and daddy. I will wait for you here."
'I knew I was in heaven. But grandma said I had to come home. She said that I should go back very quickly.
'Heaven looked nice. But I am glad I am back with mummy and daddy now.'
Paul is now back at home in Lychen, north of Berlin in Germany, and there appears to be no sign of brain damage. Statistics from America show the majority of children who survive drownings - 92 per cent - are discovered within two minutes following submersion.
Nearly all who require cardiopulmonary resuscitation die or are left with severe brain injury.
But the water in the pond was very cold and the boy's core temperature was just 28c, compared to the normal of 37c.
Cold temperatures slow the metabolism-which means the body can survive for longer without oxygen. If the temperature had been higher, the team would have stopped trying to resuscitate after 40 minutes because the boy would definitely have been brain dead.
Instead, they carried on with the chest compressions to stimulate Paul's organs, which had shut down after he breathed in the cold water.
Professor Schweigerer went on: 'My doctors were close to saying "we can do no more" after two hours of thorax compression.
'This was because the chances of survival had gone and the little lad must have been brain dead.
'But then suddenly his heart started to beat again ... it was a fantastic miracle.
'I've been doing this job for 30 years and have never seen anything like this. It goes to show the human body is a very resilient organism and you should never give up.'

Happy Easter

Easter is a wonderful time of year for all who believe in Christ, but for the members of the Latter Day Church of Jesus Christ it holds a special place in our hearts. As members of the church we have been commanded not to partake in the worldly rituals that so often surround us when Easter burst forth upon us, rather we have bee reminded by the Lord in revelation that we are to remember him and the sacrifice that was given so that we might live. This sacrifice has often been seen the crucifixion and that is all and nothing is given to the work done in the Garden of Gethsemane. As members of the church we believe that all of the work of atonement was undertaken in the Garden of Gethsemane. Christ's agony in the garden so unfathomable to the finite mind, both as to intensity and cause. The thought that He suffered through fear of death is untenable. Death to Him was preliminary to resurrection and triumphal return to the Father from whom He had come, and to a state of glory even beyond what He had before possessed; and, moreover, it was within His power to lay down His life voluntarily. He struggled and groaned under a burden such as no other being who has lived on earth might even conceive as possible. It was not physical pain, nor mental anguish alone, that caused Him to suffer such torture as to produce an extrusion of blood from every pore; but a spiritual agony of soul such as only God was capable of experiencing. No other man, however great his powers of physical or mental endurance could have suffered so; for his human organism would have succumbed, and syncope would have produced unconsciousness and welcome oblivion. In that hour of anguish Christ met and overcame all the horrors that Satan, "the prince of this world" could inflict. The frightful struggle incident to the temptations immediately following the Lord's baptism was surpassed and overshadowed by this supreme contest with the powers of evil.

In some manner, actual and terribly real though to man incomprehensible, the Saviour took upon Himself the burden of the sins of mankind from Adam to the end of the world. Modern revelation assists us to a partial understanding of the awful experience. In March 1830, the glorified Lord, Jesus Christ, thus spake: "For behold, I, God, have suffered these things for all, that they might not suffer if they would repent, but if they would not repent, they must suffer even as I, which suffering caused myself, even God, the greatest of all, to tremble because of pain, and to bleed at every pore, and to suffer both body and spirit:
And would that I might not drink the bitter cup and shrink-- nevertheless, glory be to the Father, and I partook and finished my preparations unto the children of men."

From the terrible conflict in Gethsemane, Christ emerged a victor. Though in the dark tribulation of that fearful hour He had pleaded that the bitter cup be removed from His lips, the request, however oft repeated, was always conditional; the accomplishment of the Father's
will was never lost sight of as the object of the Son's supreme desire. The further tragedy of the night, and the cruel inflictions that awaited Him on the morrow, to culminate in the frightful tortures of the cross, could not exceed the bitter anguish through which He had successfully passed.

To this end was he born to take upon himself the sins of the whole world form the beginning of time to the end, to call upon the courts of justice to answer the call for all mankind so that they might have the gift of salvation. This is the real gift of Easter, not the eggs or bunnies or chicks but rather the gift of salvation and deliverance from sin. So at this wonderful time we give thanks to the Lord for his willingness to suffer for our sake. Happy Easter.

Gethsemane.--The name means "oil-press" and probably has reference to a mill maintained at the place for the extraction of oil from the olives there cultivated. John refers to the spot as a garden, from which designation we may regard it as an enclosed space of private ownership. That it was a place frequented by Jesus when He sought retirement for prayer, or opportunity for confidential converse with the disciples, is indicated by the same writer. The Cup as a Symbol.--Our Lord's frequent mention of His foreseen sufferings as the cup of which the Father would have Him drink (Matt.26:39, 42; Mark 14:36; Luke 22:42; John 18:11; compare Matt. 20:22; Mark 10:38; 1 Cor. 10:21) is in line with Old Testament usage of the term
"Cup" as a symbolic expression for a bitter or poisonous potion typifying experiences of suffering. See Psa. 11:6; 75:8; Isa. 51:17, 22; Jer. 25:15, 17; 49:12. In contrast, the opposite meaning is attached to the use of the term in some passages, e.g. Psa. 16:5; 23:5; 116:13; Jer.
16:7.

First Post of The New Year

Dear brothers and sisters it has been a long time since our last blog address to you all. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all those that helped the church move forward last year and especially to those in the United States who have broken new ground for the church in establishing the church on the Promised Land.

We would like very much to send our thanks out to Elder Michael Clarke who last year established a branch in his home town of Clay Cross and has continued to stay stead fast to the work and to the church.

The membership of the church is of vital importance to moving the work forward and to fulfilling our first mandate given to us by the Lord, to fill the whole earth with books of Jeraneck and to bring out of darkness and in to the light that which was lost. The book of Jeraneck is probably the most unique book of Scripture that we have today, it is one of just a few things that sets us apart from any other Mormon faith, and it most defiantly sets us apart form main stream Christianity. However we believe that the book of Jeraneck works hand in hand with other revealed scripture such as The Bible and the Book of Mormon, with which our lives would be far less meaning full. We need those other scriptures to fulfil the piece of the puzzle laid out for us. The Bible is of vital importance to us as it is the only piece of scripture to date that talks of the life of Christ his earthly and mortal probation.

Let it not be said that we are not Christians, we are! We believe in Christ, not just as a side show but as leader of our faith, he is the Christ the redeemer the Son of God he is the most preeminent fixture of our faith and our church. Christ is not just confined to the Bible, his teachings are not just confined to the middle east and to the Americas , no he is found all over the world in every land in every legend. Christ is the Son of God and we believe in him and trust in his redeeming grace.

The Latter Day Church of Jesus Christ want you to seek us out, we are here and waiting to fulfil your life to answer those questions that have yet to be answers to answer those that have been hanging around in your mind and heart, Why are we here? Where did we come from? And where are we going? We have the answers to all these things the plan that our father in heaven set down for us is here it is here in its purity. The Latter Day Church of Jesus Christ is waiting for those who are disillusioned and lost. Maybe you have been an LDS member and become disillusioned with the way they work and operate, maybe you have not found the answers you were looking for, well come to us! Talk with us, visit us and we will indeed help you along the path. My dear brothers and sisters wherever you maybe in the world we love you and we want you to know that we think about you every day, the Lord loves you and wants the best for you, stay the course do not be put of by temptation and your reward will be great.

MERRY CHRISTMAS

&
A HAPPY NEW YEAR

Christmas is one of the happiest and most memorable times of any year. As we prepare for the celebration of the birth of Christ, our thoughts carry us beyond that night in Bethlehem, and we think of the glorious gift our Father in heaven gave to us by sending His Son to earth over 2,000 years ago.

As the Prophet I like to think of Christmases with my family and friends, I remember, too, the mission of Jesus Christ and the gift of His life for each of us. Now at this Christmas time of 2009, I wish to share some of my memories and thoughts with all the members throughout the world.
For me Christmas has always been a happy time, it has been a happy time rich or poor, a time for me to spend with my family and enjoy there company, to see the look of amazement on their faces when they open their gifts on Christmas day. For me the joy of giving was and still is a big part of my Christmas celebration. I remember as a child the fevered joy of waking on Christmas morning and pulling my mother and father out of bed along with my brother and sister with shouts of “Its Christmas day wake up, come on get up” I suppose that it must have driven my parents mad, but of course deep down me, my brother and my sister new that they were just excited as we were, but now I now that it was for different reasons. For my parents the excitement was about the joy of seeing their children open their gifts and seeing the complete amazement on our faces as we would get surprise after surprise, the amazement as we would explain to them “ How did Father Christmas know that’s what I wanted”. As I grew older and the idea of Father Christmas wore of I was able to take part in the idea of giving a gift and seeing the joy it brought to others, knowing that I had had the opportunity to contribute to their happiness. The joy of giving is such a rich and beautiful thing every one should have the opportunity to take part in it. I believe that it should be central to the message of Christmas still and even more central to us as Christians and as Mormons.

As a father I now have the privilege of seeing my son who will be six on the 12th of December light up when he sees all the gifts that are waiting for him under the Christmas tree. As a parent it is exciting to see the joy that beams across his face and the complete amazement at how all this could be done in one night by one man, it is something that I think will stay with me all the days of my life. It gives me the opportunity to see what my Mother and Father must have seen and felt as I did what my son now does on Christmas morning. I get a kick out of giving especially at Christmas time, I think it reminds me of the wise men who travelled so far to kneel at the cradle of the Saviour and lay before him gifts of Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh. With that in mind how can I do any different? I am a servant of Christ and I celebrate his birth on the 25th of December and in doing that I celebrate the giving of gifts one to another, we should always remember what Christmas is about. It’s about the birth of Christ and the giving of a gift, it’s not about how much you give or how expensive it is it’s just the giving of something in remembrance of those first gifts laid at the cradle of the baby Jesus.

I hope that this Christmas season brings you all the love and warmth that it is able to bring. I pray that when we open our gifts on Christmas day we will be thankful for what we have received and we will reflect on why we are doing what we are doing. I know that this time of year can be very special, and I pray that it will remain so for many a year to come.

We have the information on some land that would like to purchase for establishment of Zion’s Camp but we need your help in raising the money for this. Along with the money to buy the land we will need help with purchasing equipment to build a settlement upon the land that we wish to buy. For this we will need people to donate to the church though our web site.

The Latter Day Church of Jesus Christ aims to build a place were people can come and feel safe from the world around them. It will be a place for like minded saints and Christians who do not wish to be beholden to the government and to the state. It will be a place where the laws of God are preeminent above all other things. As we approach the end of days it is important that the saints and believers in Christ have a safe haven to go to and live the laws of God in freedom, with out fear or persecution, Zion’s Camp will be such a place. However this safe haven, this place of freedom can not be established unless we have your help and for this reason we are asking for donations of £20 or higher to help us reach the total amount that we will need to purchase the land and to but equipment for it. As Mormons our focus of worship should be Jesus Christ. As Mormons and members of The Latter Day Church of Jesus Christ our commitment should be to Christ’s teachings. The prophet Joseph Smith said in 1838 “ The fundamental principles of our religion is the testimony of the Apostles and Prophets concerning Jesus Christ, that he died, was buried, and rose again on the third day, and ascended up into heaven; and all other things are only appendages to these, which pertain to our religion”

As Mormons it must be stated that our religious focus and faith should be based on how our spiritual and moral lives are cantered in Jesus Christ, and Jesus Christ alone. It can sometimes be difficult for us to realise that Joseph Smith was an instrument in the hand so f the Lord and not the Lord himself. We need to put our trust and faith in the Lord more than we need to put our trust and faith in Joseph Smith. The reason we believe in Joseph is because we believe in Jesus, for if we have ultimate faith and belief in Jesus then our love and faith in Joseph is a by product of that love and faith in Christ

The Apostle Paul said to the church in Corinth “I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified” (1 Cor. 2:2) We need to be reminding ourselves in our worship that it is Christ who stands at the head of our church and it is through him that we have been given the duty of the restoration. We are mealy instruments in his hands to do with as he sees fit. We put no claim on the Gospel or restoration being of the making of men, but rather we should see that they are all the will and projects of the Saviour and are his to direct and we are his to command.

However with this in mind it is important that we do not do as other faiths have done such as the Community of Christ and others and resign to the dustbin our roots and our history. We believe in the Prophet Joseph Smith and that he was called by God to stand as a Prophet and to usher in the last dispensation of the fullness of times. We also believe that he was given by the Lord Jesus Christ the privilege and honour of bringing forth the Book of Mormon. Be it known to everyone who reads this address that we stand by our testimony of the prophet Joseph. The point that must be recognised is that it was all the will of Christ the Lord, not of man. To do what the Community of Christ and other s have done and dumb down the importance of the Book of Mormon and the role that Joseph Smith played is to impugn the role of Christ. I always find it odd to see people say that they no longer believe that Joseph Smith was called of God or that he went astray and then on the other hand still regard the book of Mormon as sacred.

The Latter Day Church of Jesus Christ will never relinquish its belief in the Prophet Joseph Smith or the Book of Mormon, just because it is not fashionable or comfortable. Let me state for the record that we believe in Christ, we give his name predominance in the title of our church, but at the same time we stand by the origins of Mormonism and all that goes with it, regardless of how difficult that may be.

In this weeks blog post I have asked the Prophet to write a few words for us. It might also be added that the Prophets post can be found in the August issue of The Times & Seasons.

In the clamor, confusion, and strife of the modern world, there is nothing more stabilizing or reassuring for an individual than the teachings of Jesus Christ. Unfortunately, people in the world generally, whether Christian or non-Christian, are not entirely committed to the principles taught by Jesus of Nazareth. There is evidence to suggest that among some individual’s greed, selfishness, violence, cruelty, envy, and hate may be more natural than love.

This evil in the world cannot be blamed on governments, or corporations, or institutions. Human beings are the ones who create the problems, practice the evil, and bring about misery for millions of their fellow human beings. The key to binding the forces of evil rests with changing the hearts of men.

The single most important organized force in the world today dedicated to changing the hearts of men is The Latter Day Church of Jesus Christ. The Church certainly does not stand alone in the defense of righteousness, but it does stand alone as God’s authorized representative on the earth to bring about the salvation of all those who would hear and turn to the teachings of Jesus.

Such an assertion is made in soberness and with a full realization of its implications. To those who are not affiliated with the Church or to those who may be members in name but not in spirit, this may have a harsh ring. It may sound exclusive, or snobbish, or even fanatical, but it is in fact the motivating belief of many people throughout the world. The influance of the church can be felt by many people weather they want it or not, however this fealing of influance in itself, of course, does not make the church true. Its truth lies in the reality of God’s visit to the boy-prophet Joseph Smith in 1820. Its truth rests with the additional revelations God gave to those he called to direct his church. And its truth is attested to by the fact that in this day and in this time God continues to reveal his mind and will to the prophets and apostles he has appointed to act for him.

The Newsletter, The Times & Seasons of The Latter Day Church of Jesus Christ, was established for the primary purpose of bearing witness to the divine mission of Jesus Christ and proclaiming to the Church and the world that his gospel in its pristine purity has been restored.
This Newsletter has and will continue to unfurl the banner, sound a battle cry, serve as a watchword, and teach all those who are willing to listen that there is a better way. Isaiah looked forward to the days of the restoration when he said, “All ye inhabitants of the world, and dwellers on the earth, see ye, while he lifteth up an ensign on the mountains; and when he bloweth a trumpet, hear ye.” (Isa. 18:3)

What about the more specific goals of the Times & Seasons? How will it continue to really serve the members of the Church? Does it promise anything for those who may not be members of the Church? An answer to these questions was offered by the Lord in 1832 when he commanded his servants thusly:
“And I give unto you a commandment that you shall teach one another the doctrine of the kingdom.
“Teach ye diligently … in all things that pertain unto the kingdom of God, that are expedient for you to understand;
“Of things both in heaven and in the earth, and under the earth; things which have been, things which are, things which must shortly come to pass; things which are at home, things which are abroad; the wars and the perplexities of the nations, and the judgments which are on the land; and a knowledge also of countries and of kingdoms.” (D&C 88:77–79.)

You can anticipate, then, that this “voice of the Church” has and will continue to attempt to bring you truth and light as it pertains to your total experience in life. And this will be done from a gospel point of view.

For members of Christ’s church to be “in the world, yet not of it” requires great knowledge, wisdom, and faith in the teachings of the Savior. The Times & Seasons will continue to be a part of the dynamic force moving in the Lord’s church to bring about the “perfection of the Saints.”

This first issue was not the final word. We have seen new features added, changes have been made, and different approaches have and will be attempted. We invite an open mind of those who may be clinging to what has passed away in other Church publications. We invite your constructive responses to our efforts. But most of all we invite your use of this Newsletter to assist you in gaining knowledge. And if a person gains more knowledge and intelligence in this life through his diligence and obedience than another, he will have so much the advantage in the world to come.

Throughout the history of the world. The majority of people have never been able to recognise a living Prophet. Only a few were able to believe that God could speak to a man who wears the common clay of ones won generation. The rest of the people would idolize the prophets of the past, while they stoned and killed or even persecuted the living Prophets of the present. It is a fascinating study of human nature to see how these people would usually honour the Prophets of the past. Once the Prophets were dead, they would place them on imaginary pedestals, turning them into perfect individuals who had never made a single mistake. Then they would make a selection from their teachings which suited their own particular tastes, and smugly go about living their, lives of wickedness while mouthing a few popular phrases which identifies them with these servants of God.

But men cannot do this with living prophets. Living Prophets will denounce these hypocrites who say they are followers God but instead obey their won licentious desires. Living prophets will not allow men to pick their teachings to pieces and construct a crazy quilt pattern of personal interpretations which matches popular opinion. This is why Prophets are seldom popular with their own generation.

It is the task of the people of each generation to discover weather or not God has risen up a living Prophet for them. The Bible teaches that whenever Prophets are raised up, certain things will begin to happen. Doctrines will be clarified. New truths will be revealed. Prophecies will be given. The kingdom of God will be revitalised and every honest seeker after truth will be able top observe the power with witch a true prophet carries out his mission. In all of holy writ there is not one single instance where God ever selected a professional holy man to be one of His Prophets. In every case the call came like a bolt out of the blue, often to men who considered themselves weak and incapable and were amazed that God should honour them with revelation or consider them worthy of a prophetic calling. In many cases the work progressed slowly. People said God would not speak to a mere normal person. They held aloft their scriptures containing the writings of prophets from the past and said that this was all the revelation they needed. They said that the new young prophet was making up his revelations, that they weren’t form God. But this was to be expected. These people could not recognise a living prophet any more that the people could at the time of Christ.

In our case much of what is written above is the case. I am a normal man with a normal life and family, but God has called me to be a Prophet and today the gospel doctrines are being clarified, new revelation is being brought forth and people are being awakened to seek the truth.

Much has been said of late about the secrets that Stonehenge and surrounding areas hold. A couple of weeks ago a Time Team special was aired in the UK about the secrets of Stonehenge being solved. I was able to see that time team special and was amazed at just how much information they had discovered that inadvertently supports the book of Jeraneck. It was a wonderful programme that dealt with what the team thought Stonehenge was built for, although we do not agree with much of what was said we do agree on some of the facts that were brought out. Before I go in to some detail it must be noted that on the Time team Special Tony Robinson the programme presenter made a statement about archaeologists coming up with theories to prove their own point of view. This must be strongly understood by any one who thinks that archaeologist’s theories are all sound and irrefutable. Archaeologists when faced with a problem they can not prove come up with theories that suit the current situation or there own point of view. This was exampled on the show a couple of times when Tony Robinson said to a member of the archaeology group “You don’t know do you” in answer they said "no" but it was ‘probably the case’ they don’t know they only theories many points about Stonehenge.

On of the things that they have been finding a lot at Stonehenge is bodies or graves. On the show they numbered a small number of bodies or remains that they have found in a and around the stone monuments that make up Stonehenge. This backs up the Book of Jeraneck. In the book of Jeraneck we know that people were killed at Stonehenge in a bloody battle. We also know from the Book of Jeraneck that many of the bodies were burned or left to rot on site. A great highway lead to the temple in says in the book of Jeraneck. It just so happens that they have high way leading to the Stonehenge site a great chalk highway. They have also found a small village near Stonehenge and they know that people lived near by. Lots of examples were given in the programme that after reflection back up the record kept by the people of light and back up the words of Jeraneck. On of the things that they found on the programme was a large stone or stones that were places as a marker they thought to lead the way to Stonehenge. In the book of Jeraneck we know that the people erected a great stone near to the temple in the tribute to Sharaneck for being great leader, could this be the same stone? I think its worth remembering that if a dig was done on Stonehenge to prove the validity of the book of Jeraneck you could find much evidence to support it, but on the other hand much could be found to discredit it. Although finding evidence and tangible proof is nice it should not be the basis of a testimony in its validity one should do as Jeraneck asked us to do and pray about its truthfulness.

I believe that Stonehenge is a sacred place indeed all around about the area are great monuments and building that were left behind by a great race of people it is nice to see that the fruits of the people of the Book of Jeraneck can still be seen even today, but I believe that it should stand as warning to us. Look upon their lost civilisation and ask what we are doing to avoid the same fate.

On Sunday the 31st of May The Latter day Church of Jesus Christ held its 4th Annual Spring General Assembly Meeting. It was a wonderful meeting witch was filled with the spirit and one that is eagerly anticipated by our friends overseas. The GA was conducted by the Prophet and the speakers included Elder David Smith who spoke about his strong belief and testimony of the church and the gospel and his love for the Book of Jeraneck. He was followed by a short testimony from Elder Phil Gill, who was then followed by Sister Vicki Gill who gave two wonderful spiritual thoughts that drew laughter and enjoyment from all present. The final speaker was the Prophet who spoke about the wrongs done to Joseph smith and his wrongful association with polygamy.

However Due to a technical problem the recording of the conference which is now on tape is still waiting to be put on to the computer so that it can be posted on to the blog site. It is hoped that this will soon be solved and the recoding of the General Assembly that took place on Sunday will be available for all to see and enjoy.

Today the BBC and the its love child David Attenborough have in conjunction with the believers of evolution and Darwin broken the story of ‘Ida’ the supposed Missing Link, the connection that supposedly links us with the animal kingdom. As a believer in God and a firm and unwavering believer in the biblical creation I thought that it would be appropriate to find a believer’s answer to this ‘Missing Link’. It is with great pleasure that I am able to post this reply from the http://www.answersingenesis.org/ web site. This wonderful website is a great resource for all those that believe in the biblical creation and the events of Genesis. I believe that although we have many differences with organized Christianity that this belief binds us together and gives a true unwavering scientific approach to the creation. Please read and do not be duped in to thinking that everything you read or see on the BBC or TV is actual proof of anything, try and open up your mind and examine what you are told about this supposed ‘Missing Link’

For all the headlines and proclamations, this “missing link” story includes an amazing amount of hot air.
A story we first previewed on May 16 has since rocketed to the heights of media hype as a team of scientists reveals “Ida,” the latest and greatest supposed missing link. But does Ida actually support “the evolution of early primates, and, ultimately, modern human beings,” as one news outlet reported?

Another reporter raved, “The search for a direct connection between humans and the rest of the animal kingdom has taken 200 years—but it was presented to the world today at a special news conference in New York.”

Formally identified as Darwinus masillae (in honor of Charles Darwin), the fossil originated in Germany and is purportedly 47 million years old. One scientist gave the find the nickname Ida (after his daughter).

Despite the hype, Ida looks nothing like a transitional “apeman,” instead looking quite like a modern lemur.

As for a more level-headed explanation of the evolutionary excitement, the Wall Street Journal reports:
Anthropologists have long believed that humans evolved from ancient ape-like ancestors. Some 50 million years ago, two ape-like groups walked the Earth. One is known as the tarsidae, a precursor of the tarsier, a tiny, large-eyed creature that lives in Asia. Another group is known as the adapidae, a precursor of today's lemurs in Madagascar.

Based on previously limited fossil evidence, one big debate had been whether the tarsidae or adapidae group gave rise to monkeys, apes, and humans. The latest discovery bolsters the less common position that our ancient ape-like ancestor was an adapid, the believed precursor of lemurs.

Thus, rather than an apeman-like missing link that some media sources have irresponsibly implied, the real story is quite underwhelming and should in no way faze creationists. Let’s first review the facts:

The well-preserved fossil (95 percent complete, including fossilized fur and more) is about the size of a raccoon and includes a long tail. It resembles the skeleton of a lemur (a small, tailed, tree-climbing primate). In no way does the fossil (see the picture, right) resemble a human skeleton.
The fossil was found in two parts by amateur fossil hunters in 1983. It eventually made its way through fossil dealers to the research team.

Ida has opposable thumbs, which the ABC News article states are “similar to humans’ and unlike those found on other modern mammals” (i.e., implying that opposable thumbs are evidence of evolution). Yet lemurs today have opposable thumbs (like all primates). Likewise, Ida has nails, as do other primates. And the talus bone is described as “the same shape as in humans,” despite the fact that there are other differences in the ankle structure.

Unlike today’s lemurs (as far as scientists know), Ida lacks the “grooming claw” and a “toothcomb” (a fused row of teeth) In fact, its teeth are more similar to a monkey’s. These are minor differences easily explained by variation within a kind.

Given these facts, it may seem incredible that anyone would hail this find as a “missing link.” Yet British naturalist David Attenborough claims:
“Now people can say, ‘Okay, you say we’re primates . . . show us the link.’ The link, they would have said until now, is missing. Well, it is no longer missing.”
Unbelievably, Attenborough claims his interpretation is “not a question of imagination.”

The Creationist Interpretation
The principles that inform creationists about Ida are some of the same that allow creationists to interpret fossil after fossil hailed as “transitional forms”:

Nothing about this fossil suggests it is anything other than an extinct, lemur-like creature. Its appearance is far from chimpanzee, let alone “apeman” or human.

A fossil can never show evolution. Fossils are unchanging records of dead organisms. Evolution is an alleged process of change in live organisms. Fossils show “evolution” only if one presupposes evolution, then uses that presupposed belief to interpret the fossil.

Similarities can never show evolution. If two organisms have similar structures, the only thing it proves is that the two have similar structures. One must presuppose evolution to say that the similarities are due to evolution rather than design. Furthermore, when it comes to “transitional forms,” the slightest similarities often receive great attention while major differences are ignored.

The remarkable preservation is a hallmark of rapid burial. Team member Jørn Hurum of the University of Oslo said, “This fossil is so complete. Everything’s there. It’s unheard of in the primate record at all. You have to get to human burial to see something that’s this complete.” Even the contents of Ida’s stomach were preserved. While the researchers believe Ida sunk to the bottom of a lake and was buried, this preservation is more consistent with a catastrophic flood. Yet Ida was found with “hundreds of well-preserved specimens.”

If evolution were true, there would be real transitional forms. Instead, the best “missing links” evolutionists can come up with are strikingly similar to organisms we see today, usually with the exception of minor, controversial, and inferred anatomical differences.

Evolutionists only open up about the lack of fossil missing links once a new one is found. Sky News reports, “Researchers say proof of this transitional species finally confirms Charles Darwin's theory of evolution,” while Attenborough commented that the missing link “is no longer missing.” So are they admitting the evidence was missing until now (supposedly)?

So it’s clear what Ida is not. As for our conclusion on what Ida is, we wrote in News to Note:
Because the fossil is similar to a modern lemur (a small, tailed, tree-climbing primate), it’s unlikely that creationists need any interpretation of the “missing link” other than that it was a small, tailed, probably tree-climbing, and now extinct primate—from a kind created on Day 6 of Creation Week.

Much of the excitement over Ida appears to stem from a well-coordinated public relations effort to promote an upcoming documentary and a new book titled The Link. The documentary will air on the History Channel in the U.S. (as The Link) on May 25 at 9 p.m. ET/PT. It will air on BBC One in the UK (as Uncovering Our Earliest Ancestor: The Link) on Tuesday May 26th at 9 p.m. Filmmaker Atlantic Productions even launched a website to promote the discovery, revealingthelink.com.

Yet as Hurum commented, “This fossil will probably be pictured in all the textbooks for the next 100 years.” So while the media rush may at first be a bid to promote the documentary and book, the ultimate result is one more trumped-up “missing link” presented to future generations as evidence of evolution.

The Real Story of this “Scientific Breakthrough”
While Ida has hit the mainstream media—and will even be featured on Good Morning America Wednesday—what is the real story? Has Ida been exposed to good scientific review? To the contrary, the Guardian reports:

Jørn Hurum, at the University of Oslo, the scientist who assembled the international team of researchers to study Ida is relaxed about using the phrase “missing link” to describe Ida. “Why not? I think we could use that phrase for this kind of specimen,” he said. “People have a feeling that if something is important it is a missing link.”

In the paper published in PLoS ONE from the Public Library of Science on the fossil the author is more circumspect. “Darwinius masillae is important in being exceptionally well-preserved and providing a much more complete understanding of the paleobiology of an Eocene primate than was available in the past,” the authors wrote.

“The species could represent a stem group from which later anthropoid primates evolved the line leading to humans, but we are not advocating this here.”

The paper’s scientific reviewers asked that they tone down their original claims that the fossil was on the human evolutionary line.

One of those reviewers, Professor John Fleagle at Stony Brook University in New York state said that would be a judgment for the scientific community. “That will be sorted out or at least debated extensively in the coming years once the paper is published,” he said. (Emphases added)
So despite the treatment most media reports are giving Ida, the research team behind Ida was asked to remove their speculation from their peer-reviewed paper! Even so, the Guardian also reports, “There is even talk of Ida being the first non-living thing to feature on the front cover of People magazine.” Indeed, it seems that the pitch of Ida as the missing link is full-out sensationalism by people who are bypassing the scientific community with a direct-to-the-public appeal on behalf of Darwinism.

Meanwhile, the New York Times has reported:
Despite a television teaser campaign with the slogan “This changes everything” and comparisons to the moon landing and the Kennedy assassination, the significance of this discovery may not be known for years. An article to be published on Tuesday in PLoS ONE, a scientific journal, will report more prosaically that the scientists involved said the fossil could be a “stem group” that was a precursor to higher primates, with the caveat, “but we are not advocating this.”

All of this seems a departure from the normal turn of events, where researchers study their subject and publish their findings, and let the media chips fall where they may.

Easter did not always symbolize Christ's Resurrection from the dead and the meaning of Easter was quite different. The feast day of Easter was originally a pagan celebration of renewal and rebirth. Celebrated in the early spring, it honoured the pagan Saxon goddess Easter. When the early missionaries converted the Saxons to Christianity, the holiday, since it fell around the same time as the traditional memorial of Christ's resurrection from the dead, was merged with the pagan celebration, and became know as Easter. For this reason the Lord has given us new direction on how we are to celebrate his atonement. On the 8th of March 2007 he gave the church a new revelation and outlined His will concerning the celebration of Easter. The Lord made the following statement concerning Easter:- "I the Lord am most displeased with the world for they have taken my sacrifice and they have desecrated it and they have set it at naught. Behold I say unto you that it is not pleasing unto me that Easter be celebrated amongst my church in the manner in which it is being done”

So the Lord has made his feeling on how and why we should not hold with the traditional teaching of Easter. So what is it that we are to do at this time of year? Well the Lord has also given us direction on that front as well he says: - "Wherefore come unto me at the time you call Easter and lay a feat at your table in my honour and lay upon the alter table well prepared and cooked lamb which is a similitude of me and also bring before me unleavened bread mixed with bitter herbs that you may remember that I suffered in the garden and upon the cross for you. Behold I say that this is not to take away the sacredness of the sacrament but it is to prove unto me that I the lord am remembered amongst you and that my sacrifice is not set at naught".

So we see that the Lord has commanded us to keep this celebration special and holy. It is not just another holiday to be spent in frivolity and overindulgence, but a celebration and remembrance of the Lords sacrifice for us. The Latter Day Church of Jesus Christ is led by living Prophet. His name is matthew Gill. This Prophet is not aloof from others he lives a normal life with his family, if you check out our sister site Gods place you will see. News:- Apostle Elder Michael S. Clarke is doing well again. he has moved back to Clay Cross and we are about to set up a branch there, were Elder Clarke will become the presiding Elder.

The Church has started work on an official church Edition of the 1835 Doctrine and Covenants and this shouldbe completed bythe start of teh Summer.

The work on the Bible is still on going with the Prophet wroking very hard with an assistant to do what the Lord has instucted with the Insoired version oft eh Bible. Look out for the completed edition by the end of the year.

This year is a very special time for the church because we have the opportunity to study the Book of Mormon in Sunday school. In doing this we not only get a greater understanding of the Book of Mormon and all the wonder and truth it holds but we also gain a greater understanding the prophet Joseph Smith and also who we are and why we are here. In the modern restoration today and in this church we hold the Prophet Joseph Smith in high regard not because he was an extraordinary man although he was but because he is a Prophet of God and he brought forth one of the greatest books in history The Book of Mormon. We are now standing and building on the foundation laid by Brother Joseph Smith we are rebuilding what was once torn down and in doing so we hold before the world not only the Book of Mormon but also new revealed scripture in the Book of Jeraneck, we need not be afraid and shamed to do this for we know that Joseph was and is a Prophet of God and that he did translate from ancient lost plates of Gold, that we have had the same privilege and that we are like unto him. My brothers and sisters let us go forth with renewed vigour to take these two wonderful records to the world and bring light and knowledge to a dark and dreary lost people who are crying out to be saved from themselves and the eternal darkness that awaits them if they do not heed our words. I bless you with the Lords guidance in the coming week ahead until we meet again in fellowship and love.

Joseph Smith and the Gold Plates

Joseph Smith, the first Prophet and founder of the Church tells us that the Book of Mormon was translated from golden plates shown to him by a heavenly messenger on September 21, 1823.
"While I was thus in the act of calling upon God I discovered a light appearing in the room which continued to increase until the room was lighter than at noonday, when immediately a personage appeared at my bedside standing in the air for his feet did not touch the floor...When I first looked upon him I was afraid, but the fear soon left me. He called me by name, and said unto me that he was a messenger sent from the presence of God to me, and that his name was Moroni. That God had a work for me to do, and that my name should be had for good and evil, among all nations, kindred’s, and tongues; or that it should be both good and evil spoken of among all people. He said there was a book deposited written upon gold plates, giving an account of the former inhabitants of this continent, and the source from whence they sprang. He also said that the fullness of the everlasting gospel was contained in it, as delivered by the Savior to the ancient inhabitants. Also that there were two stones in silver bows, and these stones fastened to a breastplate constituted what is among them called the Urim and Thummim, deposited with the plates, and the possession and use of these stones was what constituted seers in ancient or former times, and that God had prepared them for the purpose of translating the book." (Times and Seasons, vol. 3, p. 753)

The time soon came for The Prophet Joseph to see the plates and to experience the beauty of being given a record that has been lost to the world, this is what he says concerning that moment.
"Convenient to the village of Manchester, Ontario Co. New York, stands a hill of considerable size, and the most elevated on any in the neighbor hood; on the west side of this hill not far from the top, under a stone of considerable size, lay the plates deposited in a stone box: this stone was thick and rounding in the middle on the upper side, and thinner towards the edges, so that the middle part of it was visible above the ground, but the edge all round was covered with earth. Having removed the earth and obtained a lever which I got fixed under the edge of the stone and with a little exertion raised it up, I looked in and there indeed I beheld the plates, the Urim and Thummim and the Breastplate as stated by the messenger. The box in which they lay was formed by laying stones together in some kind of cement; in the bottom of the box were laid two stones crossways of the box, and on these stones lay the plates and the other things with them. I made an attempt to take them out but was forbidden by the messenger and was again informed that the time for bringing them forth had not yet arrived, neither would until four years from that time." (Times and Seasons, vol. 3, p. 771)

After many times of being able to go to the hill and see the plates the time came for the Prophet to be given the plates and to take them. Here the Prophet Joseph describes receiving the plates and the gravity if the situation.
At length the time arrived for obtaining the plates, and Urim and Thummim, and the breastplate; on the 22nd day of September, 1827, having went as usual at the end of another year to the place where they were deposited, the same heavenly messenger delivered them up to me, with this charge that I should be responsible for them: that if I should let them go carelessly or through any neglect of mine I should be cut off; but that if I would use all my endeavors to preserve them, until he the messenger should call for them, they should be protected...by the wisdom of God they remained safe in my hands until I had accomplished by them what was required at my hands when according to arrangements the messenger called for them, I delivered them up to him and he has them in his charge until this day." (Times and Seasons, vol. 3, p. 772)

Here Josephs mother Lucy describes the effort that Joseph had to make to get the plates back home safely.
After removing the plates from the stone box, Joseph hid them in a birch log until preparations could be made at home for the plates. Then he went to retrieve them. "The plates were secreted about three miles from home...Joseph, on coming to them, took them from their secret place, and wrapping them in his linen frock, placed them under his arm and started for home." After proceeding a short distance, he thought it would be safer to leave the road and go through the woods. Traveling some distance after he left the road, he came to a large windfall, and as he was jumping over a log, a man sprang up from behind it, and gave him a heavy blow with a gun. Joseph turned around and knocked him down, then ran at the top of his speed. About half a mile further he was attacked again in the same manner as before; he knocked this man down in like manner as the former, and ran on again; and before he reached home he was assaulted the third time. In striking the last one he dislocated his thumb, which, however, he did not notice until he came within sight of the house, when he threw himself down in the corner of the fence in order to recover his breath. As soon as he was able, he arose and came to the house." (History of Joseph Smith by His Mother, pp. 107- 108)

Today's post as been submitted by the prophet himself:-
It’s difficult sometimes for us as members of the church to communicate to others what it is God has revealed to us, in consequence of traditions. We are differently situated from any other people that have ever existed upon the face of the earth, so those former revelations can not be suited to our conditions today, those revelations were give to other people, who were before us; but in these the last and end of days. It is said that God is to call a remnant and deliver them unto Zion. Now if God should give no more revelations, where will we find Zion and this remnant? I tell you now in this blog that the time is drawing ever closer when desolation is to be poured out upon all the world like has never before been seen, It will be so great that men’s hearts shall fail them and they shall seek a place to hid themselves but find no rest unless they put themselves in the hands of God and his people; it is then that God will have a place set aside for the remnant of his people to deliver his remnant.

All around us today we see that the perilous times have come that the Lord promised we would see, we may look then with the most perfect assurance, for the fulfilment of all those things that have been written, and with more confidence than ever before. As saints of the most high God we can see that everything is being fulfilled; and that the time shall soon come when the Son of man shall come and stand in all righteousness upon the Mount of Olives and ushers in His kingdom. Our hearts do not shrink, neither our spirits break with the yoke of these terrible times, neither do they think of breaking with the things that are sure to come to fulfil the revelations of the Lord.

My dear brothers and sisters I think that it must be deeply impressed upon our minds that we should take hold of every opportunity, and should make every preparation that is within our power to make to be ready for the terrible storms that are now growing and gathering upon the earth. We must be aware that the Angels in the court of the Father have gathered and have been entrusted with these matters for the end of days; they have taken counsel together and have been instructed of the Father that the time is now upon the inhabitants of the earth to prove themselves.

My friends it is the time to seek out the Lord and take hold of His ever trusting arm. We know what we have been commanded to do and soon the time of the gentiles will be brought in and the time will come when we shall be called out from amongst Babylon. I pray that we may be ready when called. But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away! For these people are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, always learning and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. Preach the Word of God unto all men, I ask you before God and the Lord Jesus Christ, who will judge the living and the dead at His appearing and His kingdom:,Preach the word unto all people! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all long suffering and teaching. For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine, but according to their own desires, because they have itching ears, they will heap up for themselves teachers; and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables. But you be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry. In doing this i say to you all that the Lord will preserve his people and feed them.

I ask in the name of Jesus Christ the almighty God that we may be like unto the people of Zion yes even the same people that were taken unto heaven form the earth because they were to righteous. I ask and pray these things in Jesus name. Amen

It has been a wonderful week for the church with our very first subscription out side of the church for The Times & Seasons. The church is experiencing a lot of interest form the United States at the moment with many people coming forward and expressing a wish to be united with the church. The church is looking forward to getting out to the United States and baptising those involved and establishing a branch of the church among the people of the United States. The Unites states as the prophet said on Sunday is ‘being prepared once again to hear the truth of all things’ I believe that he is right and that those who have come to us in search of the truth have been led here by the Lord. There are great things due to come forth form the United States and I know that they will come forth form the Lord unto his people.

In this weeks blog I would like to talk to those people who might be reading this blog who have fallen out of favour with any of the Mormon denominations whether it be the LDS or the Cof C or any other Mormon faith. Indeed we would like to address this blog to any one that has stopped going to any church. Elder Michael Clarke has posted a blog on this very subject on his church blog site, that I you might find interesting. I want you all to know that just because you might have had a bad experience with another Mormon faith does not mean that we are all like that, we want you to know that we here ate the latter Day Church of Jesus Christ have something wonderful that we can share with all the world, we want to help you to rediscover your love for the saviour and for the restoration that took place through the prophet Joseph Smith. We want to be able to help rekindled the love that you once felt for the Book of Mormon and for the prophets of that great book of scripture. We want to be able to share our love of the Bible with you and help you come to know Jesus Christ and for you to let him in to your heart once again. Most of all we would love to share the Book of Jeraneck with you, which stands at another testimony of Jesus Christ. The Latter day Church of Jesus Christ has a lot to offer you so get in touch and let’s see if we can’t add to what you already know and help relight that fire.

The Second coming is not far of and we need to be diligent in obeying the laws that the Lord has put down for us. We need to be putting on the whole armour of god and doing what it takes for us to be worthy to stand to meet him at the great days of his return.

What a great end to the week the church has had. We have seen great work coming out of the Leicester area with Elder Michael S. Clarke out doing missionary work and getting things moving up in his area. Elders Kyle & Andrew Alverson are doing well and have been in touch this week. The work is going forward really well at the moment and we expect it to keep going. Sunday was a great meeting with a new revelation being delivered to the church concerning the tribulation and the coming of the Messiah. The new revelations that the Lords flock have had are really helping us to understand the time sin which we are living along with renewing our love and relationship with the Saviour.

The Book of Mormon takes centre stage this year with the church studying this wonderful book of scripture in Sunday school. Over the weekend the churches monthly news letter The Times & Seasons was sent out to all those that have requested it and given to all its members. The Times & Seasons is a wonderful opportunity for the church to share uplifting stories and also for people to know what is going on in the church and to read a monthly message form the prophet on a wide range of issues. We would like to thank all those that have helped with input for The Times & Seasons and also to Vicki Gill for arranging The Times and Seasons so beautifully. Keep a look out for next months when Elder Clarke will be submitting an article to be included. Today’s Blog is posted by the Prophet Matthew Gill: - Who am I? Many people believe they know who I am. It has been said by many that they know me and that I can’t possibly be a Prophet because they know what I’m really like! Know man knows me! And to coin a popular phrase ‘Know man knows my history’. I’m grateful for all the opposition that I receive and that the church receives, for some reason they believe that we are important enough to write lengthy posts about and important enough to ruffle their feathers. It has come to my knowledge that again things have been said about me personally and about my family that are just NOT TRUE, let me say it again NOT TRUE. I will once again out line a few things for those people so that I have put it on record in this blog post for all those that wish to see.

I have never been kicked out of the LDS church. It simply didn’t happen that way. I was not excommunicated and I was never invited to a church court. I know that it is hard for some people to understand what with them knowing me so well, but I’m afraid that it is simply not the case. I’m sorry if that upsets some people, I’m sorry if that is not the version of my history that you seem to think is correct, but its just hard luck because it’s the truth. The fact is that I resigned my membership of the LDS church to Jason Store who was the first councillor on the Derby ward bishopric at the time. I invited him round to my house and we sat and I explained to him why I was doing it and he took my resignation in writing from me and after a warm and conflict free chat he left. About a month latter I received a letter confirming that my name had been removed from the records of the LDS church. That's how it happened. There was no church court or argument or conflict of any nature, I was not kicked out because of apostasy, I simply resigned my membership, simple really. In the same fashion my father also resigned his membership, In fact that’s how some other people who have joined the church left the LDS, once again no courts no recrimination no arguments nothing, I don’t know from what source the opposite view has come form but it’s NOT TRUE and it’s a LIE.

So that has dealt with me for the moment, let’s turn our attention to the issue that keeps being asked about Elder David Smith. Let me say once and for all on the record that Elder David Smith has never donated any amount of money to the church other than his tithing that he gives every month. He has never sold a property and given the money to the church, he has never been left any money by a relative and left that to the church, nothing of that nature has happened at all, its yet another fantastical idea of certain members of the LDS church, it’s a LIE. The Latter Day Church of Jesus Christ is not at liberty to say who pays tithing and who does not, it’s a matter of data protection, plus it would be a betrayal of trust, and it’s none of your business any way.

The congregation of The Latter Day Church of Jesus Christ seems to be a real concern to some people. The size of our membership seems to be really important to a lot of LDS members, why I don’t know? But some of them seem to be really hung up on how many members we have. The Latter Day church of Jesus Christ has ten members in the UK at the moment. I have never made any claim that we are bigger in the UK, I have never given the impression that we are heaving with membership in the UK. I hope that answers that problem for some of you. Although I don’t know what membership size has to do with being true or false as seems to be the assertion.

Now it seems that someone who has read the church blog site has gotten it in to their heads that I think that they are or were jealous of the Gill family in the past. I don’t know if they were or weren’t, and to be honest I don’t really care. I’m sure that there are lots of very rich people in the LDS church, I’m sure that they are extremely happy with their wealth; it doesn’t bother me in the slightest. What does bother me however is when people make comments about my family or people that are close to me that are untrue or slanderous. Once again I will make it very clear on record that my father has never been to gaol, has never been arrested for fraud and has never stolen money from people, and just in case I’m accused of hiding neither have I.

It is true that I grew up in the LDS family. I have been in many units in my time in the LDS church. I was first in Birmingham then in the old Hansdwroth unit where I was baptised in to the LDS church at age eight. My family then moved to the Tamworth unit and stayed there for many years where my father served for many years on the bishopric, in fact we moved to Tamworth when I was eight and I didn’t leave until I was eighteen. My family then moved to the Derby ward for the first time, then back to Birmingham and to the Wild Green unit. From there I married and moved to Sheldon unit in the Birmingham stake. My wife and I then moved to Derby and obviously went to the Derby ward, my mother and father followed due to the family business having to relocate due to the distance between the two families. I left the church when I was a member in Derby ward.

The final thing I want to clear up and put on record is that the church has no mentality ill people as members, none of them have learning difficulties, NONE OF THEM. I am not sure why people who claim to know some of the members in the church would say this, maybe, just maybe they have the wrong person, or they are just wrong. I know that it might be a hard thing for an LDS member to get their head around but, they could be wrong!

I hope that I have been able to put some reoccurring persecution to bed once and for all. In my heart I hope that this can be closed, but I doubt it. It’s a sad shame that these people keep asking the same questions over and over, it is a sad shame that they believe that there is something evil and sinister going on here; nothing could be further form the truth. To all our members I wish to thank you for your continued faith and prayers to our members outside of the UK, I am so proud of your commitment and your friendship, it is a great example to me of how much our message has touched you. I thank the Lord everyday that he has called me to this work and tat I am his servant in these troubling and dark times, keep the faith my friends, the journey will soon be at an end and we shall behold the Saviour in all his glory and majesty. I leave you with a wonderful quote that sums up what we have to go through, it was written by the Prophet Joseph Smith and I think relates very well to our situation: - The Saviour said . . . "Blessed are ye when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely for my sake; rejoice and be exceeding glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so persecuted they the Prophets which were before you." Now, dear brethren, if any men ever had reason to claim this promise, we are the men; for we know that the world not only hate us, but they speak all manner of evil of us falsely, for no other reason than that we have been endeavouring to teach the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Happy New Year to all our friends and members out there. We hope you had a wonderful Christmas and that you were all able to spend the festive season with family and loved ones.

It is a new year and a new start. 2009 promises to be a great year for the church although even if it wasn't going to be a great year our work would go on as we have a duty and promise to the Lord to perform the work that we have all been called to do. We have a new blog site from Elder Clarke in Leicester which is http://www.saintsinthelatterdays.blogspot.com/ I would encourage all of you to check it out and give Elder Clarke all the support you can while he is in Leicestershire.

At the end of last year we had a wonderful winter GA which was watched by lots of people all over the world from Argentina to Australia, we are so pleased that we have been able to touch people’s lives and bring them some happiness and friendship. The churches official copy of the Book of Mormon was published at the end of 2008 and it has gone down very well with those that have ordered copies form us; we are so pleased that we have been directed by the Lord to get this edition of the Book of Mormon published. The Book of Jeraneck was read by record amounts of people last year fulfilling a promise made by the Lord that it would be 'read by people in many lands and that it would be sent unto all the world to stand a witness of the people that once inhabited this land'. The work on the churches official Bible goes on with the Prophet working hard to go through the new sections that need to be added and communing with the Lord over the issue, when the work is complete we shall notify everyone on the blog site. We would like to thank all those people that sent us support last year in whatever way they could, it was wonderful to come into contact with people who wanted to hep and also those that wanted to join with us.

We are small and although three baptisms last year may not seem like an awful lot to many out there, but for us it was a wonderful moment, we had had the chance to save souls and we performed our duty to them and to the Lord. There are many great and glorious things set to happen this year including the bringing forward of revelation and prophesy and another great things. Although we find our world falling deeper and deeper in to dark times we know that we will stand as light unto the entire world. The Lord is with us we have proved this in days past we have weathered the storms that have been thrown our way we have stood firm and not faltered and when times come that test our resolve and our very faith we know that the Lord will be with us no matter what happens. We hope and pray that we can fulfil our duty as well as we did last year and that we can do what the Lord asks of us this year without hesitation. God bless you all in the coming year.

It has become the tradition of The Latter Day Church of Jesus Christ to hold its Winter General Assembly in December so that we can dedicate some of the time of the Winter General Assembly to Christmas and hopefully convey our thoughts and feeling on this special time of year. The Winter General Assembly took place on Sunday the 14th of December at Ten o’clock in the morning and this gave us the opportunity to gather together and to worship with all the members of the church. Hello everyone! well as some of you are aware a lot has happened over the last couple of weeks. But when the storms break over you it is then that your friends and allies excel themselves and it is then that they come to the forefront and stand next to you shoulder to shoulder. I would like to personally thank all those that have sent well wishes to us and I would like to now thank our presiding Elders of the church who have come out and defended not only me but the church and the things that we believe in. It was during this time that Elder Michael S Clarke posted a video on the net and set out his stall for the whole world to see and to hear. Please find this video below. Before I end this blog post I would like to remind everyone that the 3rd Annual Winter General Assembly is due to take place on Sunday the 14th of December. As some of you are aware last weeks blog post was supposed to be our last of the year, apart form the GA video that is to be posted latter in December. However it has come to my attention again that there continue to be lies posted on the Nauvoo forum about the church and my family. It saddens me that I have to write this blog post, but I want the opportunity to tell the truth regarding some of the lies that have been posted. I think however before I write this post that I make it clear that I have no problem with the LDS church at all. I do not condemn them or the work that they do. I believe they are wrong but I would never go as far as to lie about their teachings or about individuals who lead the LDS church. This seems though unfortunately to be the pattern that many LDS members have taken regarding The Latter Day Church of Jesus Christ and its leaders and members. The reason for this post apart from telling the truth is that many of these lies are slanderous and have no foundation whatsoever and if these lies ever got out in to the public domain could damage very seriously our professional working relationship.

So some of these lies lets examine them. To do this I shall list just a few of the lies that have been told and answer each of them in turn.

(Bugbyte)“They prey on venerable people. Their 1st ‘convert’ (Smith?) was a returned missionary with quite severe learning difficulties”

We have never preyed on vuneravle people. In fact I don’t even know who these vulnerable people are. They state that at least one of them is Elder David Smith. I have known Elder David smith for a very long time. I knew him when he and I served in Ireland on a Mission. He does not have any learning difficulties what so ever. In fact he was one of those that helped found the church. It’s so funny because any one that knows our David Smith knows that this is just so untrue.

Another lie. David Smith has never sold a house as far as we are aware. The church has never taken any money from him in this regard. The question that needs to be asked here is where did they get this lie from? Who told them of this? As it’s not true then I guess that they are listening to gossip yet again. I state once again for the record that Elder Smith has never received a house as an inheritance from any one!!!!1 and he has never sold a house and given the money to the church.

I am not sure who they are referring to here. But I state yet again that none of our members here in the UK are venerable in any way. None of them have severe learning difficulties and none of them have given any money to the church, apart from normal tithing donations. Phil Gill is not the leader of this church and has no reason to rip people off and steal from them; he has a very successful business of his own that makes more than enough money. These people listen to our message and we let them decided what hey wish to do about joining, no one has been forced and tricked in to joining. Once again a rumour and a lie. May be they should talk to us rather than listen to gossip.

(Iregretthis) “It bothers me that they are appealing for money to set up Zion Camp. I am so upset to hear about the preying on and exploitation of these vulnerable people”

We do not see a problem in asking people for donations if you don’t want to give then don’t give, it’s that simple, and we don’t force anyone to give us money. I do believe that the LDS church asks its members for donations, they call them fast offerings that are voluntary donations, so what's the difference? Again it would seem to be that this person is more wiling too except an unfounded lie rather than find out the truth for them selves.

(Bugbyte) wouldn’t worry, his church will fail. Phil Gill just does not have the charisma to pull it off, hence the complete lack of baptisms. If you ever met him you would know what I mean. As a good Mormon I do worry about their salvation, but I worry a whole lot more about his converts. Although baptised into our church the three converts have some degree of learning difficulty and will have been exploited. I am 100% sure the Lord will not hold them accountable. The first convert gave the equity from his house sale to them.
I don’t know what Elder Phil Gill having charisma has to do with the church going forward. The LDS church have lots of baptisms because they have lots of people already on the ground to do lots more work with lots more money at their disposal. Please don’t be worried about our members none of them have learning or mental disabilities….it just makes me laugh when in on line this person says that they were former members of the LDS church and makes it sound like its fine for them to have members with difficulties but for any one else to have them, then they must be tricking them or stealing from them. We have no converts with learning difficulties at all in any case so the argument is just stupid. If we did I still don’t see what the problem would be any way. Aren’t they entitled to know God? You might want to find out how many disabled people and people of low intellect there re in the LDS church. You will find it’s much higher than our church, as WE HAVE NONE.

(Freezer) I'm so glad I've found this site and others are aware of the "Gills”. have been very concerned that I was the only person who was aware of Phil’s and Matthews’s background, although there are many facts you are unaware of. Matthew came into contact with David while serving a mission in Ireland. I’ve read Matthews comments of this forum on his blog site and it’s interesting to note that he hasn’t commented regarding the sale of David’s house and if the money was given to the Gills. Whatever reason or motive drove them to this point, only they know. But I do pray for them that they will give up this charade and repent.

Please, please for the sake of sanity can someone tell me what they know about my background and my fathers? Note the word ‘know’ very few people ‘know’ anything what they think they know is untrue. Many of the people like the person above have relied on gossip and lies to fuel their bigotry. Note how they use the David Smith issue again. David has never sold a house and given the money to me my father or the church. I also like how this person thinks that we need to give up the charade. Maybe they need to examine their own LDS dogma and give up what they think is right. Crazy!!

(amazonman) The gills are going all out to deceive so I feel like I need to put in my 2 pennies worth. I grew up with the guy in Tamworth England. We didn't get on. I almost hit him........twice - you get the picture! I smile at his testimony of him growing up and recieving his visitation at 12 and how the family were great church members. I'm sorry but it is completely untrue.The comments on paralells of JS and people not believing him etc etc came to my mind too. Fortunately I know the man behind the claims and can safely say I have good reason not to believe him. I have a lot to say about him, not all good. I knew his counselor briefly too, I think he's seriously been taken advantage of. In summary, try to find someone who has anything positive to say about him or his family. Compulsive lying, pride, not going to church because a position of authority wasn't bestowed.

What a lovely man this is. As I don’t know his name I can’t personally comment on this person. However he betrays the sort of person he is by his unchristian act of almost hitting me twice, nice guy then? I don’t think I have ever used the words great church members, in fact we very rarely mention our past association with the LDS church. He claims to know the man behind the claims, he obviously has a biased opinion of me from his childhood, (maybe he felt inadequate around me I don’t know) and I doubt weather he would have been a friend in any case, so it’s very unlikely that he would ‘know’ me at all. Once again Elder Smith is being described as some kind of poor unintelligent person who can be taken advantage of, not true, and I don’t know how he knows of him any way as I dint even know Elder Smith growing up. This guy has a real dislike of me and my family that is obvious from his post, but I want to state now that none of my family ever went in active from the LDS church while we were members of the church ever!! In any case most of my family had postions of authority for majority of thei time in the LDS church. So that’s a lie.

Once again I would like to say that it saddens me to have to post this blog and defend my self in this way. However after thinking about it long and hard it had to be done. What really get s me is that these idiots listen to this rubbish; it’s just amazing really, its mind blowing. I have nothing to hid, if you want to know the truth then please come to the source and ask me. If you dislike what we have done that's okay but don’t make up lies and stories that are not true. I have never been in gaol, I have never been in front of an LDS court, and no one that is related to me has ever exploited anyone in the church with regards to taking money from them. I have never been arrested for fraud or any other crime of that nature. May be these people that say they knew us are the ones that were jealous of the wealth that my father had while in the LDS church, maybe they are the same ones that he took to dinner on numerous occasions and never thanked him, maybe these people are the ones that converted after what he had but as soon as he had some troubled times walked away form him and didn’t even extend the hand of friend ship, may be they are the ones that took more than they gave in back. What saddens me the most is that many of the people that accuse me and my family of much of these sick things don’t even know us first hand. Many of the people have only heard of us and have only listed to gossip and rumour. I have many friends that are LDS even my extended family my mother in law for instance in LDS and even she can’t believe some of the things that have been said about me. I have just yesterday meet with an old LDS friend at Starbucks in Derby where we had a great chat about some of the things above. I consider him a friend and those that know me know that I would not do the sorts of things that I have been accused of. My father has never been arrested for fraud or for anything of that nature. He might have offended people in the LDS church or had differences of opinion with many of them in the past, but that hardly qualifies them to speak about him in a manner that is both derogatory and untrue. Defamation of character and slander are serious and if I knew who these people were personally I would do something more about it though legal channels. I have approached the Nauvoo forum and have asked them to cease and desist their members from posting things of this nature and have told them of our action to seek legal advice should this continue. We have nothing to hide so I make this post with a clear conscience, I just hope that many of the people who have said some of the hatful things about us have some prang of conscience, however I doubt it.

Hello again to the blog site for The Latter Day Church of Jesus Christ. We hope that you have had a good week and that this blog finds you in good health.

This week has seen some of the most devastating news being beamed around the world, with talk of the imminent financial collapse of the United States and with Britain soon t follow suit, many people have been looking rather grim and down trodden, many of our world leaders look absolutely blasted and they seem to have no good news to pout to the people. We have been inundated with people emailing us asking us what our stance of all this upheaval and how did we feel about the gloom and crisis that the world is in.

Members of The Latter Day Church of Jesus Christ are led today by a modern day living Prophet and they receive revelation from the Lord via the Prophet. We have in the church modern day scripture much of which speaks of our day and forewarns us of these things. Much of this revelation and prophesy which speaks to us of events that are happening today can be found in The Book of Prophecies and Revelation. So with this in mind our members are not worried too much about the events that unfold on the national and international news with regards to the financial collapse of the world and the unrighteous leadership of the different nations involved. We are more concerned with our righteousness and our actions in these times and how they reflect Christ like attribute and weather we are doing what we have been asked.

Just this Sunday the Prophet gave a talk on this very subject. In that meeting he quoted from the book of P&R from a revelation given on the 23rd of January2008. The prophet quoted from many sections of that revelation but the following quote made the biggest impression on my mind “Now behold before my Second Coming nations shall collapse one against the other. Behold my servant they shall collapse because they have not done like unto my servant Joseph son of Jacob and they have not put by for the lean years and they have not done this because of their greed and their wont. Now behold I have caused that they have been blinded by their own greed, but behold my servant these things shall come to because they have not listened to my Prophets and mine anointed and because of this the nations shall collapse and there shall be unrest….hearken unto mu voice for the tribulation is coming and it is coming with great speed and its speed is great and it is like unto a great wind and it shall come and strip bear your land and many others in its wake”

This is just one of the many times that our day is spoken of in the book of P&R however that quote was one that stuck in my mind and has stayed with me and caused me to remain faithful in these hard times and has called me up to remembrance of the promises that I made to God and to the church at my baptism.

Also this week we saw the unveiling of the UK national ID card another issue with which many have come to us and asked what our stance is on this issue. All across the world many God centred people have been asking if such things are from God if they are something that we should be taking and honouring. In the same Sunday meeting that has just gone the Prophet also reminded us that he had been told about this some time ago in 2006 and that we were not to touch them or even take part in them he quoted from the book of P&R again this time he read from a revelation given on Thursday the 19th of January 2006 in which it says “behold a warning I give unto you, the time will soon come when thou wilt be asked to take by the leaders of thy country cards to carry your identity, this thou must not do, that is the will of the Lord”

So my friends you see that the members of the church here fear nothing that is happening at the moment as we have been forewarned by the Lord that these things will come to pass. We hear the words of the Lord and we obey, this obedience helps us get through these times. We are not saying that the hard times that are coming or that we may yet be living in will be a stroll in the park because they won’t be; they will be hard and in some instances very dangerous. Some people may be in danger of losing there lives and other things that they hold dear, but the love of the lord will be with us through all that trouble and strife, he will be with us to guide us and to comfort us when we feel down and despairing, then it will be up to us to give back to him our obedience and faith. With this faith and obedience we shall be blessed and the lord will protect us.

The Lords church is a church of revelation, it is a living thing not a dead organisation that claims to have revelation but then none is forthcoming. If you feel that you are lost and alone at this troubled times then come unto us and we shall help you and shall comfort you and help lighten your burden with the love of Christ. If you feel that you are walking through a dark and dreary waste with no light to guide then we shall help show you the way by which you may gain that that light. We are here to comfort and uplift you in these dark and trying days. The Latter Day Church of Jesus Christ Is led by a modern day living Prophet of God who speaks and reveals his word to us.

Dear brothers and sisters. I have recently had the opportunity to read the comments placed on the Juvenile instructor some time ago. After been told about it and what was said I thought that I would check it out. After reading the report I was shocked to see a report that was concise and informative, even if a little incorrect, however it was refreshing to see that this site and its mediators had taken the time to find out and analyze what was being said in an academic way rather than an unintellectual and scar mongering attitude that has to often been the case when these types of reports or posts have been made by other people such as those made on the Nauvoo forum.
After reading the report or post, I thought that I would glace through some of the comments. After glancing through the comments I was once again not shocked to see that some of the people who commented were doing so from a purely ill informed position. For instance there is one women o the comments section by the name of Christine that pleased with people not to send u money by saying
“I repeat, do not send money for Zion Camp!” Comment by Christine — May 15, 2008 @ 8:5 am She then goes on to say

I would be very interested to know who you are Christine. The name rings no bells for me, but maybe if you stopped to contact us for yourself to find out what we really believe you would stop being so confused and upset by what you think we have done.
The above comments are just a few that were made until they were told to stop by the mediator on the site, at least someone on there had the backbone to tell them to stop and for that we tank you.
The Latter Day Church of Jesus Christ is not secret it is not shut away so that nobody can contact us we are always here to discuss the gospel with people and the restoration, we have never mad mention of the fact that we are some kind of secret religion that never talks to people, however this attitude has been permitted far to often by our persecutors.
Let me once again inform everyone out there that we believe in the Book of Mormon and in Joseph Smith as a Prophet of the restoration. We hold true to that fact that the early church was established by the Lord Jesus Christ to bring about a change and to bring about the true and living gospel of Christ once again upon the earth. We hold true to the belief that the 1835 D&C is the only copy of the D&C to have been approved by the prophet and the church as a whole and therefore stands as the only copy approved by God. We also hold true to the fact that the Kirtland Temple was and still is the only building built by the early saints and by the Prophet Joseph that was ordained of God to be his temple. We believe and hold true to the fact that the church ceased to exist when the Prophet was cruelly took from us in 1844 that he was not given to appoint another in his stead as the D&C tells us he would do. We hold true to the fact that the church at that time had fallen in to disobedience that there were men and women within the church doing things which Joseph Smith and others were trying to eradicate such as the practice of polygamy and other such practices, and because the church had been warned and not listened after the disobedience of Kirtland that if they feel in to error again that the Lord would withdraw from them the blessing of the gospel no successor was chosen. We believe and hold true to the fact that Brigham young and many others established churches after the death of the Prophet without authority from God and although they may have done good works or may now be in the process of doing good work they are not churches of God. We hold true to the fact that that the Lord has called forth his people again in this time to establish his church one again upon the earth. The Latter Day Church of Jesus Christ is that church and has been ordained by God to stand as his kingdom upon the earth. We hold true to the Book of Jeraneck that stands as a further witness of Christ and his divinity. We hold true to the witness in the book of Jeraneck that the land of Britain is a chosen and choice land and that a righteousness people once inhabited its shores full of the love and grace of God ready to do that which was asked of them by him. We hold true that they just as those spoken of in the book of Mormon feel in to error and were slain from of the face of the land and only the wicked were left upon its shores. Many people criticize us because of the book of Jeraneck and its teachings. They accuse it of being fabrication and a book of the devil; however most of these people have never read the book and have never even picked up a copy. Many of these people find the same problems with the Book of Mormon and the Bible so we see no merit in there accusations. The Book of Jeraneck was given to us by the gift and power of God and we shall continue to give it to as many people as ask for it. It has touched many peoples lives, not just those attached to the church. It has influenced people all over the world to seek out the lord more in their lives and to pray more and to actively seek the lord. We hold true to the fact that the Lord has called a modern day living Prophet once again upon the earth and that we receive constant revelation concerning the coming of the Saviour and the last days, not to mention personal revelation concerning our own lives and actions. Revelation is an important part of the church and the gospel, the gospel of Christ can not function without it, it is the instrument that the Lord uses to convey things to us of great importance, revelation is spoken of in all the books of scripture and is a vital part of the latter day gospel. I do not understand churches that t profess to be the true church when they receive little if any modern revelation. We hold true to the fact that this revelation takes many forms that it comprises of lost scripture and new teachings give to us by God.
We have been accused also of being very similar to the LDS church and that we have a lot in common, I would like to disagree with that most whole heartily. The only things that we seem to have in common are that we both believe in Joseph Smith and even that can be different, as we believe in a different version of the man, just as we believe in different version of the book of Mormon and the Doctrine and Covenants and the Bible, so in fact although on the face of it we might seem like we have a lot in common, we don’t. This church is lead by God and a real Prophet who speaks with God, not a president who stands as a CEO of a big global corporation.
Although we are small were are true and that stands for a lot. I hope that we are able t help and assist all those people that have become disillusioned by the big LDS church or the crumbling Community of Christ and all the other restoration groups who have no substance. I want you to know that we stand ready to help and assist you in your continued journey to eternal salvation. Please if you are one of these lost sheep, get in touch with us and let us add to the knowledge that you already have, let us show you the gospel of Christ is alive and it is talking to the people today.

Over the past couple of weeks we have been in contact with lots of people from all over the world. This is wonderful to see that our message is being received by lots of different people with the same hopes and dreams that we have. However one set of people have relay struck home to us just how important this work is and the job that we still have to do for the Lord.
A couple of weeks ago I was contacted by a man in the USA, this man Is wonderful he is truly blessed by the Lord and has a pure heart and wants to know and understand his role in the Lords plan and what role he has to play in that plan. We have been communicating now for over two weeks and he has a small congregation in the US that are also searching for Zion and the truth. I would like to address this weeks blog to them if I may and hopefully others who read this may also gain something from this as well:-

A couple of weeks ago I sent some papers out to our friends in the United States, it seems form our emails that they are having some difficulty in understanding why we need to be re baptised. I was glad that they have raised the issue of re baptism, because if they had not raised that issue then I would have thought that they were not reading the things that I sent, but it looks like they are so that is great. The problem that they and some of their congregation are having is very similar to what Joseph Smith and the early saints were going through and because of this very issue of re-baptism the Lord gave Joseph Smith a revelation and that is found in D&C section 22 in this section the Lord outlines why he has asked people to be re-baptised it says:-

Behold, I say unto you that all old covenants have I caused to be done away in this thing; and this is a new and an everlasting covenant, even that which was from the beginning.
2Wherefore, although a man should be baptized an hundred times it availeth him nothing, for you cannot enter in at the strait gate by the law of Moses, neither by your dead works.
3 For it is because of your dead works that I have caused this last covenant and this church to be built up unto me, even as in days of old.
4Wherefore, enter ye in at the gate, as I have commanded, and seek not to counsel your God. Amen.

You see, it is not that God is saying that you must be re-baptized just to join a new religion or to join a club, but rather to join and seal yourself to a new covenant or promise that he, the Lord has instituted not man. Baptism is not just for the remission of sins, although this is a big part of baptism, but it is a promise a covenant that we make with God that we have entered in to this new promise with him, it becomes a very personal thing rather than a blanket thing were it is just for the remission of sins, it is a living hopeful new law or covenant that the Lord has given unto us. I believe that Joseph Smith was and still is a Prophet of God. I believe that the Lord spoke to him and that what is written in the 1835 D&C are the words of God unto him and if this is the case then I believe that what is written in there is from the Lord.

I do hope that although this may seem like a big issue that you will be prayerful over it and that you will not let this be a stumbling block for yourselves and others in joining us with so that we can accomplish all that the Lord has in store for his people. Zion will be redeemed the Lord will have his people united, Zion will be born again and stand as a banner to the world. I believe that things this important are worth fighting for, that God has revealed his truth in these last days and that we stand as his interments and that he has established the church again for the redemption of Zion. I do not believe for one minute that the Lord led you all to us for you let re-baptism be a deal breaker in any way, the Lord has established his law in the D&C and it says that this is necessary to enter in to his new covenant. The Lord is everything and he wants his people to be one, not just in action but in thought and spirit. He wants his people to be like unto Enoch and the City of Zion and for us to establish that Zion upon the earth and I believe that is worth the ask. I know thaw the Lord is with you and that he has brought you to us for a reason and that our paths have crossed for a far greater reason, the establishment of Zion his people upon the earth once more, don’t forget you live in the Promised Land and it is not a coincidence that you found us. I believe that we were brought together for that greater purpose of his church being established once again on the earth and for a people like your to help build Zion in the United States and to be united with his church.

God Bless you my friends. I hope to be able to meet you one day and to stand with you and to minister to you and for you all to be united in Zion with us so that we can go forth and quench the parched earth and make it flower again and make Zion stand as a banner once again.

It has been a while since the blog page has been updated and this has caused some people to wonder weather or not the church is still operating. Let me assure everyone that The Latter Day Church of Jesus Christ is still here! We have not ceased to operate and the wok continues and it continues with the blessing and love of the Saviour Jesus Christ.

The progress of the work is something that is going from strength to strength and is a work in progress. The church has never claimed to be a big multi conglomerate entity, in fact we have stressed on many occasions that we are here not to compete with those churches but to do the work of the Lord, a work that we are doing very well. The Book of Jeraneck has been received in many counties on many different continents and it has fulfilled the purpose for which it was given to us. We have done all that the Lord has commanded concerning the Book of Jeraneck and we have done it with very little resource. The Book of Jeraneck like many books of scripture is had for both good and bad, it had been received on the whole very well but like all good things there is opposition that still exists and that this fine. We have never stated that people can not have differing opinions on the book or even different opinions about the church; all we have asked is that we be given a chance to tell our side of the story before people listen to gossip or hearsay.
The work and our message is being greatly received at the moment in the United States were many people have contacted us with a view to joining the church and becoming active in our mission. The Lord is preparing that fertile ground so that one day a branch of Zion may be erected. This is pleasing to us as we know that the American continent is the Promised Land and that Zion shall be built upon that continent. To all those that live in the United States and have expressed a willingness to join the church please take the time to pray about your decision and to read the material that we send after this if you still wish to united with us then that can be accomplished.
All in all the Lord is working a mighty miracle at the moment and the past disappointments are well and truly behind us, as we march on to our final goal. To all those that have tasted the waters of baptism an have rejected the message I implore you to get back on to the straight and narrow path and hold firm to the iron rod, for only true and enduring happiness can be fund in the church of God and that is here. To all those Mormons of what ever denomination you belong who are felling unappreciated and underused, I say this, we have a work for you here at The Latter Day Church of Jesus Christ. There is much we can offer you and much we can add to what you already know to be true. Please contact us we standby ready to help and assist you.

Requirements for Membership In

The Latter Day Church

Jesus Christ

We have been asked by a few people to give them a set of requirements for membership. I have therefore taken the decision in light of s few people asking that we post the requirements for people to join the church. Despite what some of you may have heard the church is still here we have not gone in to obscurity or fallen apart, although I'm sure some people would love us to. The purpose of this post and these requirements is not only to inform people about what they have to do to be joined with us but it is our way of letting you know that the church is in fact here and doing the Lords work. This week alone we have given out over ten Books of Jeraneck and have given out numerous amounts of reading material to those that are seeking the truth. The Lord has revealed again in our day his word and the work that he wants to be done. I know that there are many of you out there that have a testimony of Joseph Smith that have read the Book of Mormon and know it to be true, but you feel let down and not supported by the other Mormon faiths. I would encourage all those that are having these or similar difficulties to contact us. We are ready to add to your belief and love of the Prophet Joseph and the Book of Mormon. Please don’t suffer in silence come to us and we shall fulfil your testimony and give you renewed vigour and belief.
So here it is The Latter Day Church of Jesus Christ’s requirements for membership.

D&C 20:37
And again, by way of commandment to the church concerning the manner of baptism-

All those who humble themselves before God
And desire to be baptized
And come forth with broken hearts and contrite spirits
And witness before the church that they have truly repented of ALL their sins
And are willing to take upon them the name of Jesus Christ
Having a determination to serve him to the end,
And truly manifest by their works that they have received of the Spirit of Christ unto the remission of their sins,
SHALL be received by baptism into his church...

D&C 10:67-68

Behold, this is my doctrine--

whosoever repenteth
and cometh unto me,

The same is my church. Whosoever declareth more or less than this, the same is not of me, but is against me; therefore he is not of my church.

The church has gone through a very trying couple of weeks with deception and treachery being the order of the day. I want to assure all those that have remained faithful that the Lord is with us that he will not allow the work that has been done over the last four years to be brought to nought, Those that have acted in the way they have know that they will be held accountable for their actions by a judge higher than this earth, We are not the only people to have ever been hurt our founders suffered, Brother Joseph suffered but he endured and that’s what makes us strong. The Latter Day Church of Jesus Christ is still here and is still standing despite the best efforts of those that came here to do us harm. We may not have the trappings of the big churches, the fine buildings the temples we may not have what The LDS of the CofC or the born agains have but we have the truth and that counts for a lot more.

People all over the world are hearing about us are reading the book of Jeraneck and are liking what they are reading and finding out, we are here for them, for the ones that want to genuinely know more we are here for the ones that have really prayed to receive and answer to their prayers. May God bless all those that want to do us harm may he have his spirit to stir your soul to forgiveness for what you have done or what you are thinking of doing.
God bless all the faithful that have clung to the truth and have tasted the fruit and held true to the rod…..To paraphrase a wonderful quote by the prophet Joseph Smith "Notwithstanding our enemies were continually breathing threats of violence, we do not fear, neither do we hesitate to prosecute our journey, for God is with us, and His angels are before us, and the faith of our little band is unwavering. Hi folks we hope that you have all had a great week and that the lord has blessed you in some way. A lot has happed over the last week or so. We had the pleasure of having our first Joseph Smith memorial meeting on Sunday and we had the pleasure of hearing from our newest convert Elder Kyle Alverson who spoke about the Prophet Joseph with real spirit and conviction. We also had the pleasure of hearing form the modern day Prophet Matthew Gill and he also spoke about his personal relationship with Joseph Smith; all in all it was a great meeting.
In the way of news for everyone we have set up a blog site for our chesterfield contingent and the link to that can be found on our main site. Elder Smith has moved over to chesterfield to help and support the new members there and the church is going form strength to strength. Of course we are still looking for new members all the time so if you feel that you are missing something in your life and that it seems that there must be more to this existence than what there is, or you have a testimony of the Prophet Joseph smith and the book of Mormon but are not being fulfilled in your existing church then get in touch with us we have a lot to offer and truths that will fulfil your life.

It is with great pleasure that I the Leader and Prophet of The Latter Day Church of Jesus Christ have the opportunity to write this week’s blog. The past week has been one that has lifted my resolve and my spirits, I have seen the Lord work his might miracle and I have seen him do wondrous things to the hearts of men who are willing to open their hearts to the whisperings of the Holy Ghost. I would like to take the time to publicly thank our Friends in Australia for their love and their support, we really do appreciate your emails they lift my spirits and its good to know that we have friends, thank you once again. On Friday just gone myself and a few of the priesthood of the church were able to spend a wonderful time together with friends reading talking and studying the gospel, we were blessed with a revelation from the Lord during our studies and time together and that in itself was a glorious thing to behold.
However the world never lets the work of the Lord go on without people wanting to bring it down or who wish to drag through the dirt the name of the Prophet Joseph Smith and that glorious work the Book of Mormon. I had the displeasure of seeing the video on youtube by Shazoloo and I have to say that I am very disappointed that he chose to attack the Book of Mormon with such venom. Although I respect him for his views and I respect him for his love of the Saviour, it seems to me that lately he has found any possible reason to attack the Book of Mormon and therefore the Prophet Joseph Smith. The arguments that he puts forward to destroy the Book of Mormon as a book of scripture and a book of God although eloquent in their tone are nothing more than what I expect from a born again Christian. The Book of Mormon does in many ways contradict the Bible but this is only because the Bible although a record and a collection of the teachings of the Jews and the early Christians is not infallible. It has many errors in it due to the fact that it has been through so many people’s hands and it has been used by men who would have the Bible used for their own edification or for their own wicked designs. However I understand that the Bible is the word of God, but this can only be truly trusted as far as it is translated correctly.
The argument that I have just put forth for the Bible can be said of the Book of Mormon, if you know its history. The Book of Mormon was first published in 1830 and since the death of the prophet Joseph Smith it has gone through revision after revision and change after change. For example the Community of Christ have a version that is totally in new English and it has been watered down so much that it has nothing resembling the original about it. The LDS church has revised their edition so many times and they have even taken and altered bits form the original. However the difference between the Bible and the Book of Mormon is that we have an original edition of the Book of Mormon. The manuscript is still available for people to see; indeed you can buy a replica of the original copy with the same text and print as was found in the edition that The Prophet Joseph Smith had printed at the E.B. Grandin bookstore in Palmyra, New York. As you may be aware no one can get a copy of the original manuscripts of the Bible as many people wrote them and many of them have never been seen since the person who wrote them finished them.
I have posted a video response to the video on you tube and I hope that who ever view's this blog will enjoy it and find it informative. I hope that Shazzolo comes back to us and that we can have a healthy sensible debate on many of the issues that he raises and let it be a discussion that is done with respect and with Christ like attitudes, because that is what should be done when talking about the Gospel of Christ. However I would say to him that maybe he is being led astray by not reading and praying about the book of Mormon or even the Book of Jeraneck, may be it’s him that needs to be more influence by the spirit of Christ and not the other way around.

On Sunday we had our testimony meeting which was missed by a few of the members. With this in mind we have decide to post an edited version of that meeting so that they can feel of the spirit that was present on Sunday. As way of a reminder the First General Assembly of 2008 will be held this Sunday at 10:00 am all those wishing to join with us please call in advance so that we can make arrangements for extra chairs to be put out. Firstly we would like to thank all those that have been emailing us and sending questions to be raised on the video presentations, we thank you for your continued support and your help, God bless you.
Well it has been one of the most exciting weeks that the church has had for a long time. On Sunday just gone we had and investigator meet with us and after our services and a meeting with the prophet he has decided to be baptised. Michael our investigator is a wonderful person who will bring a lot to the church. He has a spirit that shouts out with the love of the Lord, I’m sure that Michael will be a wonderful member and brother, we look forward to working and worshipping with him. Michael’s baptism will take place on Sunday the 27th of April and of course it promises to be a wonderful event.
The Latter day Church of Jesus Christ also has its first General Assembly of the year coming up on the 4th of May. The General Assembly which is the first one of the year always promises to be a wonderful event which sets out the year’s goals and aspirations for the year. If you wish to come to the general assembly then please call in advance for the start time.
This week we will not be having a video presentation that will continue next week however we would like to share with you a wonderful poem written by the Prophet Jospeh Smith-

This poem was published in the Church's official paper, the Times and Seasons on February 1, 1843. In this poem it tells of a vision that Joseph had had, Joseph had beheld a heavenly vision in which he was shown the condition of those individuals who inherit Celestial Glory. He tells of having been given the knowledge that they who attain Celestial Glory will be "equal in power, dominion and might, with a fullness of glory and grace, round Heavenly Father's throne."
Not only was Joseph’s vision and poem made available to the Church members in America, but it was also published in Liverpool, England, in the Church's paper, The Latter-Day Saints' Millennial Star for August 1843, it was also printed in New York City in the New York Herald.

I will go, I will go, to the home of the Saints Celestial Glory,Where the virtue's the value, and life the reward;But before I return to my former estateI must fulfil the mission I had from the Lord....

Hello and welcome once again to this weeks blog. The Latter Day Church of Jesus Christ is working toward a lot of goals at the moment and the work that we are about is progressing nicely. We have had a lot of emails and lot of people viewing last week’s video by Elder Philip Gill. This week Elder Gill is doing a video presentation with regards to Zion’s camp. Elder Phil Gill a presiding officer in The Latter day Church of Jesus Christ makes a fresh appeal for funds for the establishment of Zion’s Camp and also talks about the topic of responsible husbandry of the earth.

We have had a magnificent week with people coming forward and contacting us with regards to joining the church. We are going to be having an investigator come and meet with us on the 13th of April and hopefully God willing he will feel the Spirit and join the church. We are just so overjoyed that someone has heard the message and they have felt the Spirit and they have felt that Matthew Gill our Prophet is called of God. Once again we call on all those that are in the LDS (Utah) Church and the other Mormon and Christan denominations that feel that they have been ignored or feel disenfranchised and feel that they have lost that personal connection with the Saviour Jesus Christ to come and talk to us and join with us, we have a lot to offer and we can give you back that personal relationship with Christ. It is great and overwhelming to know that the work that the Prophet Joseph Smith Jr started is finally being continued and is being appreciated, and that it is being done here at The Latter Day Church of Jesus Christ.

We hope you have had a great Easter and that you were able to spend some of that time reflecting on the saviour and turning your thoughts to what Easter is all about. The ester and Passover celebrations here we very good and we had a wonderful Sunday sacrament meeting where all the talks were based on the Easter story and the saviour’s atonement.

As promised Elder Phil Gill was able to do a video and we have pasted here along with this weeks blog. It is the first time that someone other than the Prophet has done a video so we hope that there will be questions sent to the email, and that it will generate some interest. The church is progressing very well and the wok is getting done the message is being spread and people are becoming engaged. Wonderful things are happening with revelation being given on a daily basis. The Apostle David Smith was given a dream from the Lord last week and the Prophet had a fulfilment of a revelation this week, so the Lord is working his mighty miracle and everything is coming together just as the Lord promises it will. Hello every one, we hope that the last week has been good to you and that you have been blessed by the Lord. Well it is that time of year again when we celebrate the death and resurrection of the Saviour Jesus Christ. The Latter Day Church of Jesus Christ hold's this time of year in great reverence and we believe that it is a very special time of year when the Lord gave us a wonderful blessing and gave us the chance to have our sins forgiven and to triumph over death. We would like to remind everyone what this time of year is all about, it’s not about the Eggs and the Easter Bunny but about the Saviour and his life and work. Have a great Easter and Passover holiday bearing in mind what this time of year is all about, please remember to keep it reverent and give some time during this busy holiday to remembering the Saviour and the great gift that he gave at this time.

We hope that you are enjoying the video presentations and that you feel that you are gaining something form watching them. This week’s video is a return to the normal run of the mill topics that we started on. However we would still love to hear form you, if you have nay questions or comments that you feel that you would like to make then please contact us and we will pass it on to get attention on the video presentations. Hello and welcome once again to the official blog site for The Latter Day Church of Jesus Christ. To the right you will see one of the first batch of pictures that has been done for the children's Book of Jeraneck by the Artist lettmann, I'm sure you will all agree that it is exceptional work that she is doing for us. Well as i said another week and another video presentation. We have been inundated with questions over the last week and the Prophet has chosen a just a few of those questions to answer on the video presentation, we hope that the answers that have been given have been done in a way that is easy to understand. The Prophet of the church has dealt with some issues on this week video blog that we believe needed answering and getting out in to the wider world.

We hope that you continue to send in your questions and as the Prophet has said in his video presentation that if you feel that there is something missing in your life, a void that never seems to be filled, that you will come and join with us in worshiping the Lord and saviour Jesus Christ. To those of you that are among the LDS(Utah) faith that feel that they have been disenfranchised or who feel that there needs are not being met will come to us so that we can add to your belief and fulfil your needs, the gospel of the Saviour Jesus Christ is here and it is alive today in The Latter Day Church of Jesus Christ. Well another week has gone by and the church continues to go from strength to strength. We have had a lot of people emailing us over the last couple of weeks leaving questions and enquiring about the church and what we are doing and what we believe in. The Prophet has taken a few of those questions and he has done a video post in order to answer some of them in person, that video address can be found here on the blog site and also on youtube as well.

The church has also commissioned Doris Lettmann to do some more Art work to go in to the children’s version of the Book of Jeraneck. So far the work that she has done has been wonderful and it looks as if the pictures are really going to catch the children’s eye, she is a wonderful artist and we thank her for her continued work that she is doing.

Zion’s Camp is hopefully going to become a reality this year with the church planning to purchase some land. If any one is interested they can email us about Zion’s Camp, if you are interested in coming and living at Zion’s Camp then please contact us and we will talk you through what you need to do. We are also still asking for donations to be made to the church for its continued missionary programme and its foundation of Zion’s Camp, please give what you can to the church, your seed will be planted and the harvest will be great.

Once again we have another video blog. This week has been very unique in as much as we have had two video posts. Today’s video post is in direct response to a video that was posted on youtube called: - A Curious Dilemma for Mormons: The Book of Jeraneck. Although the video was very good and did not portray the church in a savoury light there were some things that the Prophet needed to clear up hence the video response. We have not only put them on youtube but also on the blog so that those who keep updated with the blog will be able to watch them here. It seems that the greater the work the greater the persecution is. This week we have had our share of both good and very bad responses to our video presentations both here on the blog and on youtube. Let me first start by thanking our friends all over the world for their support and their help it is very much appreciated and we welcome your help and your friendship, God Bless you.
As for our persecutors and those who wish us ill we pray for you and we hope that your hearts may be softened and that you will learn to show more Christ like attributes in your life and also that you might read a little more in to your articles of faith in particular number eleven which says, "We claim the privilege of worshiping Almighty God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may".... Many of our persecutors are once again form the LDS church in Utah, it would seem that they have once again chosen to forget that their own church allows people the right to worship how were and what they may…. We do not know why but they seem to have a problem with any other religious group other than their own. We understand that you may not like what we are doing but then again we don’t like what you are doing but we don’t offend the leaders of your church every week with hate mail. It would seem that although they claim to be lovers of the saviour and the gospel that they are in truth further away form it than they would like to admit. Moving on, this week has been wonderful. We have had many people enquiring about the church and enquiring about baptism. The Lord is truly blessing his little flock at this moment in time.

There will not be a normal post this week, as we are going to be given an informal video from our Prophet Matthew Gill that will be posted later this week. In this video presentation the Prophet talks about Zion’s Camp and the role that it will play in the church and also about how the Last Days and events that are happening around us are a fulfilment of Prophesy. We will hopefully have the video posted by the end of the week.

We are encouraging every one that reads this blog to help us in our efforts by talking to us and asking questions, we want to be able to post a video response at least every month to questions that we are asked and also to act as a call all those that are still undecided to come and join with us in building the kingdom of God and also in building Zion’s Camp. The Latter Day Church of Jesus Christ wants your membership and we want you to join with us.

Happy New year to Each And Every One of You.

2007 was a wonderful year for the church which was capped of wonderfully with the Winter General Assembly meeting, which was a wonderful success. The Winter General Assembly can be seen our youtube page.

2008 promises to be a good year for the church with the completion of the second Edition of The Book of Jeraneck soon to be with us and the Book of Prophesies and Revelation also soon to be with us. It is a year that as already brought reward to our small but faithful people. Already in 2008 we have been inundated with emails from people all over the world wanting to know more about us and wanting to get hold of Book of Jeraneck, so all in all the start to 2008 look’s good.

This year we have a plan in force to get a few things done. They are, establishing Zion’s Camp, getting the children’s version of the Book of Jeraneck completed, the churches mission to Tibet and India completed and on track and also the new version of the Bible to be finished and ready to use.

So once again we would like you to keep watching and contacting us as this year should be a great one indeed.

A Childs Hug

We were the only family with children in the restaurant. I sat Erik in a high chair and noticed everyone was quietly sitting and talking. Suddenly, Erik squealed with glee and said, 'Hi.' He pounded his fat baby hands on the high chair tray. His eyes were crinkled in laughter and his mouth was bared in a toothless grin, as he wriggled and giggled with merriment.
I looked around and saw the source of his merriment. It was a man whose pants were baggy with a zipper at half-mast and his toes poked out of would-be shoes. His shirt was dirty and his hair was uncombed and unwashed. His whiskers were too short to be called a beard and his nose was so varicose it looked like a road map.
We were too far from him to smell, but I was sure he smelled. His hands waved and flapped on loose wrists. 'Hi there, baby; hi there, big boy. I see ya, buster,' the man said to Erik.
My husband and I exchanged looks, 'What do we do?'
Erik continued to laugh and answer, 'Hi.'
Everyone in the restaurant noticed and looked at us and then at the man. The old geezer was creating a nuisance with my beautiful baby. Our meal came and the man began shouting from across the room, 'Do ya patty cake? Do you know peek-a-boo? Hey, look, he knows peek- a-boo.'
Nobody thought the old man was cute. He was obviously drunk.
My husband and I were embarrassed. We ate in silence; all except for Erik, who was running through his repertoire for the admiring skid-row bum, who in turn, reciprocated with his cute comments.
We finally got through the meal and headed for the door. My husband went to pay the check and told me to meet him in the parking lot. The old man sat poised between me and the door. 'Lord, just let me out of here before he speaks to me or Erik,' I prayed. As I drew closer to the man, I turned my back trying to sidestep him and avoid any air he might be breathing. As I did, Erik leaned over my arm, reaching with both arms in a baby's 'pick-me-up' position. Before I could stop him, Erik had propelled himself from my arms to the man.
Suddenly a very old smelly man and a very young baby consummated their love and kinship. Erik in an act of total trust, love, and submission laid his tiny head upon the man's ragged shoulder. The man's eyes closed, and I saw tears hover beneath his lashes. His aged hands full of grime, pain, and hard labor, cradled my baby's bottom and stroked his back. No two beings have ever loved so deeply for so short a time.
I stood awestruck. The old man rocked and cradled Erik in his arms and his eyes opened and set squarely on mine. He said in a firm commanding voice, 'You take care of this baby.'
Somehow I managed, 'I will,' from a throat that contained a tone.
He pried Erik from his chest, lovingly and longingly, as though he were in pain. I received my baby, and the man said, 'God bless you, ma'am, you've given me my Christmas gift.'
I said nothing more than a muttered thanks. With Erik in my arms, I ran for the car. My husband was wondering why I was crying and holding Erik so tightly, and why I was saying, 'My God, my God, forgive me.'
I had just witnessed Christ's love shown through the innocence of a tiny child who saw no sin, who made no judgment; a child who saw a soul, and a mother who saw a suit of clothes. I was a Christian who was blind, holding a child who was not. I felt it was God asking, 'Are you willing to share your son for a moment?' when He shared His for all eternity.
The ragged old man, unwittingly, had reminded me, 'To enter the Kingdom of God , we must become as little children.'
If this has blessed you, please bless others by sending it on. Sometimes, it takes a child to remind us of what is really important. We must always remember who we are, where we came from and, most importantly, how we feel about others. The clothes on your back or the car that you drive or the house that you live in does not define you at all; it is how you treat your fellow man that identifies who you are.

Merry Christmass

A Happy New Year

As the Prophet of The Latter Day Church of Jesus Christ I have the pleasure of giving this month’s blog post. Once again the most significant time of year is upon us. We are now in the month of December wherein we celebrate the birth of our Saviour Jesus Christ. It is a wonderful time of year that touches so many people in so many different ways. As Christians it touches us in a way that only Christmas can. Christmas is a wonderful time of year and one can feel its presents all through the month of December, it is a testament of the birth of Christ and stands, still in this day and age the most important time in the Christian calendar.

I know that although Christ was not born on December the 25th it gives us a time, a date that we can dedicate to that most beautiful and wonderful event that ushered in the earthy probation of the Saviour, and how wonderful to know that when we give gifts at this time of year we do it in remembrance of the gifts that Christ received. I know that when I awake on Christmas morning with my wife and son that the first thing we shall do is give thanks to Christ for all that he has done for us and dedicate that day to him, for without Christ there is no Christmas. As I do every year and have done since he was born, I will take my son, a couple of days before the 25th to give a toy to a little boy and girl who are without and in that he will learn that it is that act that Christ taught, to give without expecting anything in return.

As many people will be aware the church has a winter General Assembly meeting on the 16th of December, we have scheduled our winter GA to take place in December so that we may remember what it is we are here for, to glory in the name of Christ and what better way to do that than to do it in this most special month, and to dedicate our winter GA to the Christ.

On behalf of all the members of The latter day Church of Jesus Christ I wish you a very happy Christmas and leave you with this thought, at this time of year when you are all caught up in opening brightly wrapped gifts and you are tucking in to your Christmas feast to spare a thought to those how have not, spare a thought to your estranged family members who you have not spoken to in many a year, for therein lies the spirit of Christmas, therein lies what Christmas is all about, it is the spirit of Christ himself. Call your family members tell them that you love them despite your disagreements, give a gift to someone who is going without, help them, and show them real Christ like spirit. It is this wonderful year that shows us that we can believe and we can be like Christ if only for a short time. If we can do that then we can carry that with us through out the year and let that spirit shine forth every day of the year thought out our lives.

In the words of Tiny Tim “God Bless us Every One” As the Prophet of the church I would like to wish everyone a very happy Christmas and a wonderful New Year. see you the new year.

Our General Assembly meeting approaches the 16th of December is the date that has been set aside for our winter GA and we are all looking forward to it very much. We hope that you will be able to join with us and come and partake of the spirit at winter GA.

The Latter Day Church of Jesus Christ is a place where the gospel of Jesus Christ and the restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ through the Prophet Joseph Smith can be talked about freely. We would like to ask all of you who have a belief based around Joseph Smith to re-examine what you believe. We are not here to slam any one or what they believe we are however a church that proselytes and we feel it our duty to talk to every one about the gospel no matter what age or colour you are. We have been bomb barded again this week by what can only be called malicious and unprovoked attacks upon what we believe in, we have given no one course to do this, we have not commanded any one to join us rather we have given then the freedom to choose for them selves what they believe in. I feel that I need to remind every body what The Latter Day Church of Jesus Christ is all about and I’m sorry to say that no matter what we put on this blog site there will always be those that disagree with what we are saying and what we believe, we don’t mind that, what we do mind is people being hateful and un-Christ like about the whole thing. We will continue to talk and teach and preach until we are told not to do so by that particular person, and even then we will still talk about Christ as he is our Saviour no matter if you believe other wise. We love every one, we may not like what you do but we love you never the less. To all those that say that they are comfortable with what they believe or are just comfortable going to a church without really knowing if what they are doing is true or not. We say this. You must re-examine what you re doing! To feel comfortable is fine but when you attach yourself to a church that clams to be the “ONLY TRUE CHURCH” you had better be more than just comfortable you must have a knowledge and know what you are attaching yourself to is true and form God. We hope that we may continue to talk and discuss in a manner which is pleasing unto God without having to resort to hatred and unchristian like attitudes.

Hello and welcome once again. Well another week has gone by and it is drawing ever closer to Christmas a very special time of year for all Christians and believers. For The Latter Day Church of Jesus Christ December is a very special month as not only do we celebrate the birth of the Saviour but we also have our winter General Assembly meeting. Our winter GA is a time for the church to gather together and invite others to join with us. The winter GA this year is to be held on the 16th of December at ten o’clock in the morning. This year’s winter GA will be focusing on the birth and childhood f the Saviour Jesus Christ so this is a great time for our members to invite others to come and join with us.

For all those that have ordered the second edition of the Book of Jeraneck we have some bad news. The book that was due for completion at the printers by the end of November has had to be put back a couple of weeks due to their being a problem at the printers. Once again we apologise for nay inconvenience this may course but we are endeavouring to get the books dispatched before Christmas, once again please accept our deepest apologies and if you wish to contact us about this issue then please feel free to get in touch with us via the email.

We feel that we need to state our position on a few things before we go any further with this post this week. A couple of questions have been asked of us this week and an answer is needed to clear up any misunderstanding. Firstly we believe in the Saviour Jesus Christ, so much so that his name is in the title of our church. We believe Joseph Smith was and still is a Prophet of God. We believe that Joseph Smith did not call a successor to the Prophetic seat in his life time upon the earth. We believe that Brigham Young was not called of God to lead the remnant of the church. We believe that all those that stood and said they had been chosen to lead the church after Joseph’s death did so without the blessing of the Lord. We believe that the revelation that Joseph had at Carthage gaol before he died came true, in which the church was torn apart from within. We do not condone polygamy we see it as unscriptural and unsupportable in both the Bible and the Book of Mormon and we see its practise as a sin. We do not have any ties with the LDS church in Utah neither do we wish any, although they proclaim to be the church that was established by Joseph Smith this is unsupportable and that claim is made by all the churches that were established at the time of Joseph’s death once again fulfilling prophesy given to the Prophet Joseph Smith before he died. We see it as our holy mission to bring all Gods children into this church The Latter Day Church of Jesus Christ, and to bring them to a knowledge of Joseph Smiths original teachings and to bring them to a knowledge of the Book of Jeraneck. We believe that the Book of Jeraneck is a holy book of scripture just as the Bible and the Book of Mormon. We believe That Matthew Philip Gill was called by God to be a Prophet of God and to lead the Lords church. We do not believe in forcing people to join our church or tricking them in to doing so by promising things that are not true. However we do believe that it is our right to talk to people and to try and teach them the gospel of Christ.

It has been a wonderful week all round for the church what with people talking to us and expressing there desire to be untied with us and their desire to help us in the work. We have some exciting news for everybody. It has been decided by the Prophet Matthew Gill that we shall make our sacrament meetings available on the internet. The Prophet has proposed that all Sacrament meetings shall be recorded and posted on our youtube page. It has also been decided that if people want to join us live then they can do so by logging on at a certain time on Sunday morning and joining us for the meeting live in real time. Also our General Assembly meeting which is set for the 16th of December will also be done in the same way, we will make an announcement before hand letting everybody know when to log on and you can join us live for our General Assembly meetingon the 16th od December, however it will also be available on our youtube site as will all our Sunday sacrament meetings. With the use of modern technology we believe that it is only fair that those who are not able to get to the meeting house can join in and feel the love of the Saviour and hear the Gospel.

Once again we would like to dedicate a little bit of this blog space to the cause of Zion’s Camp and what we believe that we should be doing to serve Gods purposes here on earth. We the members of the Latter Day Church of Jesus Christ as you are aware have been commanded to build a safe refuge for the storms that are coming at this place of refuge we will be looking to create a new social order of peace built upon the laws of God. In this life no one has the right to be cold or nasty to his neighbour. Malice, put-downs and payback will be foreign to our way of life. The love that we shall try to institute will restrain us form striving to take advantage of one another, form turning our backs on one another when the times get hard.

All of you know that this world and its way of doing things encourage everyone to be responsible for his own life and the lives of their family. They make you think that once you have food, clothing and a place to live then it is okay to try and be nice to your neighbour, however they still put limits on how nice you can be or how much you can talk and what is acceptable, now matter how many laws they pass to try and make you unite as a community there are still barriers, for instance one person has his group of friends, another a different set, someone else another set, most family cant even sit down together to eat a meal without fighting and trying to get one over on someone else.

We want to create a new society were this is not the case. We have been given the building blocks for this new society were the chains of fear and guilt and hatred that bind us can be broken. The new order we are talking about is not ideal, its real. Ideal societies are the playground of the dreamer and the intellectuals of this world, not one person has ever built an ideal world or society that works. In fact there is not a location on this earth were you can observe an ideal society, all those society’s that profess to be ideal are all based on the laws of men and those laws can only limit evil not create virtue and godliness. Zion’s camp will not be perfect, but God has given us the plans and building blocks to get it done and make it real and living. In Zion’s Camp we will be able to shake of the natural man who is an enemy to God and has been since the fall of Adam and we will be able to forgive each other and press on toward the goal and that goal is that one day we will be able to stand at the feet of our saviour.

All the Prophets of the ancient times have spoken of a new order a new social order in which all things are restored. Joseph Smith established many places in America many places were this new order could take hold, but the people failed him they weren’t ready to live up to the laws of Kirkland, Kirtland was the first place were God established his vision for his people that vision that Joseph was given to fulfil was to establish a living place of God were his laws were real and meant something in peoples lives. But it is possible for Gods people to build a place were man can dwell at one with God, were the laws of the creator can be paramount in our hearts, were children need to be exposed to hate and fear where families can live together in peace and harmony. Many people reading this will not be able to see the difference between Zion’s Camp and any other idea that describes utopian ideals some will feel that its is to good to be true. But there are those of you who are ready to do the will of the Lord and you will know weather this is actually gods plan and that Gods wants his children to live in a place of love and peace you will know weather or not this is just something that we have made up or weather it truly is Gods will. Remember the city of Enoch that was translated remember that in that place there was no poor among them they truly were the sons and daughters of God. And now the Lord has asked that we do it again, that we establish this place for a refuge for all those that are seeking this new life. Read Luke 9:23 and take in your hearts what it says... If you desire to live a self sacrificing life of love, to experience the deep soul satisfaction doing what God wants and serving his law and doing what we were created for then Zion’s camp is for you.

As the statue of liberty says "Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore, Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"
